A stunningly modern property offering lakeside views and ultra-modern accommodation in Calne, Wiltshire, just a stone's throw from the North Wessex Downs.
Just outside the charming town of Calne in Wiltshire sits a lakeside property that offers serenity, luxury and, of course, gorgeous lakes views. The open planned living area is the hub of Hyggee House while the wrap-around terrace offers the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee or evening tipple as you survey the surrounding vistas. There are four bedrooms in all, each as lovingly decorated as the last. And with its location just off the North Wessex downs, there is so much to see and do in the local area. Sleeping up to eight guests across four bedrooms, Hyggee House is a countryside getaway like no other. Perfect for friends and family, no matter the occasion.
The house is accessed via a striking wooden footbridge. Upon entering, guests will be struck by the stunning open-planned living area and its lakeside views. In the sitting area, luxurious sofas are orientated around the cosy log burner while an eight-seater dining table sits in the middle of this impressive space. The sparkling, ultra-modern island kitchen has all mod cons (including two ovens), lots of workspace and even a mini breakfast bar, making it the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee while somebody else does the cooking!
A set of glass doors open out onto the wrap-around terrace which provides arresting views of the adjacent lake. A little snug room sits just off the living room and is ideal for reading - or an intimate film night. The beautiful master bedroom has a super king-sized bed and an ensuite with a striking copper roll top bathtub. On the ground floor you will find a further three bedrooms, each one as meticulously decorated as the last. One bedroom has an ensuite shower room while the remaining two share an additional shower room. All the rooms benefit from lakeside views and access to the terrace.
Calne is an archetypal Wilshire village, with lots of pretty buildings and independently run shops and cafés. With the North Wessex Downs - a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - right on your doorstep, you will not want for scenic countryside to explore. There are several places of historical interest nearby too, including Cherwell White Horse, Avebury Stone Circle, Silbury Hill and the world-famous Stonehenge. The city of Bath - named for the Roman- built baths and famed for its Georgian Bath stone architecture - is a 45-minute drive to the west, while Bristol is less than an hour away. One of England's most happening cities, Bristol has a thriving cultural and social scene and is full of shops, pubs, clubs, restaurants and everything else one could expect from a bustling city.

Leave a reviewAbsolutely love this place!! It’s wow from the minute you pull up on the drive!! Stunning views of the lake, loved seeing the swans. Every room is beautiful! Comfortable beds. Cosy birthday trip away for just the 2 of us. The feather cushions and bedding weren’t ideal - I have asthma. Some allergy free would be an idea. The only real negatives are the microwave left very dirty, food splattered all inside. Smelt horrible, we didn’t use it. Cooker dirty too, under hob control panel - probably never been cleaned. We will be back. Thank you for giving us an amazing experience staying here xx
