Charming and rustic, yet supremely comfortable cottage in North Devon
Step back into the old world without sacrificing any of your modern day comforts in this stylishly furnished and thoughtfully renovated 16th century cottage. Spend your days barefoot on the sandy, windswept beaches of North Devon, or idle away your hours by the babbling stream which flows through the cottage garden.
At the end of a quiet lane in a quintessential Devonshire village, you will discover the romance of this picture-postcard, Wisteria-covered thatched cottage. This Tudor home offers all the comforts and conveniences of the 21st century while retaining its charming period character.
Push open the solid oak door and discover a downstairs full of original features, an exposed brick fireplace and stone floors are given a classic, contemporary vibe thanks to the soft, light furnishings and decor.
Take your time over a coffee in the bright and airy kitchen, where modern classics like the Rangemaster oven compliment the traditional Butler sink.
On English summer mornings, the pretty gardens tempt you to dine outside and enjoy a restful breakfast accompanied by only birdsong and the gentle babble of the stream which runs through one of the cottages two large gardens.
On balmy evenings, enjoy supper cooked on the charcoal BBQ, perhaps enjoying the spoils of a successful fishing trip off the wildlife-rich North Devon coast.
After long days dolphin spotting, collecting shells and exploring rock pools, luxuriate in the roll-topped bath or wash off the surf in one-of-two rainstyle showers. Step out onto heated floors and head downstairs for a relaxing evening in the stylish living areas.
Oak-panelled walls and exposed timber beams create a cosy atmosphere in the lounge. Sink into one of the deep, comfy sofas under a wool blanket with a glass of wine and a good book. Or, retire to the cinema room and catch up on movies and box-sets. Superfast fibre broadband allows your evening’s viewing to be a 21st century glitch-free experience.
Upstairs, the cottage sleeps 6 guests who may choose from one of three luxuriously furnished bedrooms. Snuggle down on a John Lewis Natural Collection mattress for a deep, restful sleep to wake refreshed and ready for another wonderful day in this truly beautiful slice of the English countryside.
