Named after the village well which once stood in the front garden, Well Cottage has origins stretching back to the mid-17th century. Set in the Cotswolds village of Ramsden, this charming self-catering gem boasts original fixtures such as oak beams and exposed stone walls. These period features are wonderfully complimented by the cottage's homely furnishings and warming colour palette, creating an air of history and comfort that is unrivalled. Sleeping a maximum of six guests across three bedrooms, Well Cottage is the perfect retreat for friends and family alike to enjoy their own escape to the country.
The ground floor houses three communal areas. The open-plan kitchen and dining room comes fully equipped with all mod cons, a six-person farmhouse dining table, and even a cosy little reading nook. Next door is the entrance/sitting room, complete with comfy sofa, antique furniture, and a cosy log burner - the perfect spot to unwind in the evenings. There is also a TV room which has a large sofa sitting in front of another wood burner, which is the ideal place to hide away and enjoy a good film or TV box set. All of these rooms are nicely decorated and super-stylish, whilst still offering touches of rustic, rural charm that give the home its wonderful character.
There are three bedrooms on the first floor, each meticulously decorated to exude a warming and homely atmosphere. The master bedroom features a super king size bed and has an adjoining ensuite with a standalone roll top bathtub for an added slice of privacy and luxury. Be sure to enjoy a relaxing soak after a day out exploring the Cotswolds. The second bedroom also contains a super king size bed, while the third is a twin room (the beds can join to form another super king). The house has a further two bathrooms, each with a WC, basin, and walk-in shower, so you shouldn't have too many queues for the morning shower! Step outside Well Cottage and into the beautiful English country garden. There is a lawn to the front and rear, while you will also find garden furniture and lighting, making for the perfect space to enjoy a morning coffee or evening tipple.
The Royal Oak, a beautifully restored 17th-century inn is a stone's throw from the property and comes highly recommended for its acclaimed food, wine and ale. Should you wish to venture outside of Ramsden then you are right on the doorstep of the Cotswolds. A designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Cotswolds is replete with stunning countryside, beautiful walking and hiking trails, and numerous charming villages. For those of a more urban inclination, Oxford is approximately 15-miles to the southeast. Famed the world over for its namesake university, this medieval city is also known for its gorgeous architecture, thriving arts scene, shopping and many restaurants.
