You’ll find The Wealthy Merchant tucked away on the Hesdin Estate surrounded by Wiltshire’s beautiful countryside. It’s named after Arnulf de Hesdin, a merchant who was gifted the property over nine centuries ago by William the Conqueror. This little corner of the estate has now been transformed into a stylish holiday home sleeping up to eight guests, perfect for families or groups of friends. Enjoy sunny afternoons out in the garden, relaxing in the large hot tub, braving the cold plunge or rustling up some lunch in the pizza oven.

Step inside The Wealthy Merchant and you’ll be greeted by an open-plan living, kitchen and dining space decorated in warm tones, creating an inviting atmosphere. You’ll be able to whip up all the family favourites in the well-equipped kitchen and enjoy your meals together at the big wooden table with its comfy seating. The living area invites you to put your feet up on the big comfy sofa and settle in for a movie night in front of the huge flat screen TV.

There are two bedrooms to choose from, each sleeping four guests comfortably. Each room has a luxurious super-king size bed on the ground level and another on a mezzanine level. Both rooms also have stylish ensuite bathrooms where you’ll find fluffy towels and robes waiting for you. The beds on the ground level can be split into twins, offering plenty of flexibility for groups of friends or families.

When the sun is shining, you’ll want to make the most of the fantastic outdoor space. Relax with a session in the three-metre stainless steel hot tub, complete with cascading fountains, or perhaps you’d rather an invigorating dip in the cold plunge. Challenge the family to a tournament at the pool table or the ping pong table before heading to the outdoor kitchen to prepare something for the BBQ or the pizza oven. Enjoy the outdoors and the peace and quiet of the countryside late into the evening while lounging on the comfortable patio furniture and gazing at the starry night sky.

If you can tear yourselves away from your peaceful escape, there’s plenty of exploring to be done in the surrounding area. It’s a short drive to the iconic and mysterious Stonehenge or you can head out on one of the stunning walking routes on Salisbury Plain. Visit the bustling city of Salisbury and explore its stunning medieval cathedral which has the tallest spire in the country. The historic city of Bath is nearby with its fascinating Roman Baths, beautiful architecture and a contemporary spa with a rooftop pool. For a bit of quintessential English charm, the village of Lacock features cobbled streets and historic buildings, including Lacock Abbey which you might recognise as a popular filming location.
