Almost entirely covered in ivy, this charming former mill enjoys a stunning location amongst beautiful gardens which play host to a flutter of feathered visitors including Kingfishers, Swans and Owls. Guests can while-away endless summer afternoons watching the wildlife, listening to the gentle trickle of the water and the wind as it blows through the willow and silver birch trees which line the waterways.
Duck ponds, pergolas and benches are dotted around the gardens and a there is a pretty table and chair set for those long summer suppers or after-dinner drinks. The old water wheel which idles by the property and its adjacent waterfall are not the only remnants of the property's industrious past. Inside, some of the former mechanisms have been refurbished and remain in situ offering guests a fascinating look into the past.
The rest of the property has been renovated and decorated sympathetically, exposed wooden beams criss-cross ceilings and their presence is enhanced by the neutral shades of the decor and the pine furnishings. Entry is through a charming stable door into a hallway, great for stashing coats and shoes, directly into the good-sized and well-equipped kitchen. Cosy in the winter and cool in the summer, a pine kitchen table invites visitors to enjoy catching up over coffee or planning the day ahead.
Up to the middle floor and a pair of large leather sofas take pride of place in the middle of the room, inviting and comfy, they make a great spot to relax and take stock of the latest adventures. The two bedrooms, one double and one twin, are both situated at the top of the mill, among the rafters. This privileged location will guarantee a solid night's sleep, only interrupted by the gentle hoot of the owls. Both bedrooms are serviced by a clean, modern bathroom, which has a large shower. Toiletries and fluffy towels are all provided for guests. An additional toilet room can be found on the ground floor.
The Mill is a 12 minute walk from the village of Grafton Fyford, where both the Millennium Way and Wychavon Way pass through making it a great spot for cyclists.
Stratford Upon Avon is a short car journey away, as is Warwick Castle and the historic city of Worcester. Head to Friar Street for its independent boutiques and restaurants, as well as a medieval townhouse and the 16th century Tudor House.
