This delightful stone cottage, with a slight nautical feel, is situated in the heart of one of the most pretty and sought after villages in Cornwall and would be perfect for two couples or a small family wanting to experience the rich nautical history of Charlestown.
As you enter you'll discover a stylishly furnished space that feels homely and welcoming. All of the furnishings have been carefully selected to make the place a part of its surroundings, from the rope bannister, the framed photos of ships and the nautical red, white and blue in one of the bedrooms, this cottage is as cute as a button. There's even a fabulous ink drawing of a lobster in the bathroom.
The cottage has been designed in an upside down fashion with the two bedrooms and bathroom located on the ground floor. One has a king-sized bed and is decorated in pale soothing colours and the other, a twin, has the bright fun splashes of colour making it perfect for two children or a couple of friends.
The bathroom is fab with stunning monochrome tiles and a large walk-in shower. It is here you will find the excellent lobster and a couple of starfish continuing that nautical theme.
Up the stairs is a lovely open-plan living area with cosy seating, a charming country style dining table for four and a modern well equipped kitchen where you can prep all that lovely fresh seafood you've bought locally.
Pour yourself a large glass of something delicious and head out to the sunny patio where you'll find more comfortable seating and a great table for dining al fresco if the mood takes you.
Once you've had some refreshments and someone has pointed out that this is where Poldark was filmed, you might want to take a short stroll to the historic harbour and admire the fleet of magnificent square rigger ships reminiscent of a bygone era. Charlestown to this day remains unspoilt and full of Georgian character.
The cottage is within ambling distance of a number of great restaurants, pubs and cafes and only slightly further afield (within five miles) is the incredible Eden Project. A day out not to be missed! The area is rich in golf courses with Carlyon Bay and Porthpean close by. The picturesque fishing village of Mevagissey is 20 minutes' drive away, while the Lost Gardens of Heligan, several stately homes and gardens are even closer. For longer days out, Newquay and North Cornwall are a 35 minute drive away so pack a picnic and go explore.
