The Beach House was once the studio of Cornwall's much loved artist, John Miller. With the beach quite literally steps away, it would be a great getaway for a small family, or up to five friends who fancy a relaxing stay by the sea.
This home from home has tranquil decor, modern amenities and, of course, that amazing spot by the water's edge. Its location is absolutely heavenly for beach lovers, water sports aficionados and those who simply want to stare at the water or walk the sand by moonlight.
The ground floor is open plan with a kitchen area at one end and a cosy living area with a dining table seating six. It's clean, bright and welcoming, and one of the two sofas opens into a double bed. It's a nice space to chill out after a day at the beach, and you can cook a meal to be enjoyed at the dining table or sit outside on the pretty terrace and enjoy the sublime view with a drink.
Upstairs you'll find two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with large twins. Both rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable with plenty of storage room and gorgeous views of the bay from the windows.
There's a shower room where you can wash away the sand or freshen up after a good night's sleep with the sound of the water lulling you off. There's also a utility room where you can store wet beach gear.
Start the day outside with a coffee or watch the ever changing colours over the iconic Godrevy Lighthouse as did Virginia Wolf when she wrote 'To the Lighthouse'. Lelant village is quiet and tranquil even in the height of summer and it has two pubs and a nice bistro where you can enjoy a local pint and a bite to eat. If you're happy to walk a bit further via the South West Coastal Route, you'll find St Ives is very close and has its own very pretty harbour. There's also the Barbara Hepworth Museum, the former home of the leading Sculptress Barbara Hepworth, and the Tate where you can take in some lovely artwork. There is also the Leach Pottery in St Ives as well!
There's a golf course a few metres away, and this area is popular for kite surfers and kayaking. Feel free to bring a rod and do some bass fishing in the bay, or enjoy a day out at The Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan, which are all easy to get to by car.
