In a prime location on the beachfront of a charming Devon village, this characterful property is a real hidden gem. Nestled on the side of a cliff, its elevated position provides breath taking views of the unspoilt bay below. Whether you’re waking up to the sound of waves or watching the sunset through the porthole window, this tranquil abode promises a relaxing, restful stay.
Inside the spacious stone cottage, you’ll find a calming colour palette that reflects the tones of the sea, alongside fun, nautical touches. Beautifully presented and wonderfully welcoming, you’ll feel at home from the moment you step through the door.
The open plan living space offers dramatic sea views from both the lounge and kitchen areas. Here you can relax on the comfy velvet sofa, warm you toes in front of the atmospheric wood burner or watch your favourite programme on the widescreen TV. The spotless kitchen is fully equipped with everything you’ll need to conjure up a tasty meal, including an oven, cooker, microwave and utensils. There’s also a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and coffee maker. The rustic, wooden dining table, which takes pride of place at the heart of the kitchen, seats up to eight for hearty breakfasts, leisurely lunches and sociable suppers.
Upstairs you’ll find two calming bedrooms, both of which are light and airy and tastefully decorated. Here you can drift off to the sounds of the waves lapping the shore below. There are also two contemporary bathrooms stocked with locally produced soap.
Double doors from the lounge lead you out onto the paved patio, where you’ll be treated to jaw dropping views of the spectacular sea and dramatic cliffs. In this quiet spot you can relax on the loungers with a good book, fire up the BBQ for a flame grilled feast or enjoy an alfresco meal at the outdoor dining table.
The Boathouse can also offer extras for that special occasion with the option of a private chef on hand should guests wish to arrive and hang up their aprons, and two therapists who can visit the accommodation & offer luxurious spa treatments.
The Boathouse Devon is located in the small village of Lee. The quiet, unspoilt bay is the perfect place for rock-pooling at low tide and is safe for sea swimming. Keen walkers can explore the Southwest Coastal Path, which runs next to the cottage, or a short stroll will take you to The Grampus Inn, a traditional pub serving delicious home-cooked food. And if you jump in the car, the popular seaside resorts of Ilfracombe and Woolacombe are both within a 15 minute drive.

Leave a reviewA perfect retreat. We loved the Boathouse. The decor, the views and it was so quiet. Decorated beautifully and so well equipped. We had long walks, ate local seafood and read so many books.
