Sitting just a hop and a skip from the North Devon coast is The Salt House in Ilfracombe. The property has been beautifully decorated throughout, ensuring that guests feel right at home the moment the threshold is crossed. Its location in the seaside resort of Ilfracombe makes this the perfect spot for those who enjoy all that coastal life has to offer. Whether it is swimming, surfing, or just watching the boats pass in the harbour, this town's charm will be lost on nobody. The house sleeps up to six guests, making this the ideal spot for families and friend groups alike. So, grab the surf boards and come see what this coastal gem has to offer.
The ground floor contains a spacious entrance hall with storage space for prams, surfboards, kayaks, mountain bikes (racks a provided for bikes and surfboards). The spacious lounge has two large three-seater sofas and a flat screen tv. The kitchen and dining area has ample space. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the dining table can seat up to eight guests. The Salt House sleeps up to six guests across three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed and an en-suite shower room, while the other two bedrooms both benefit from a kind size of their own. Both can be converted into twins upon request. There is a family bathroom with a bath and separate shower, while there is also a WC on the second floor.
Ilfracombe - and the region of North Devon - offer plenty to see and do. As a seaside resort, there are plenty of water-based activities to partake in, such as surfing, kayaking, fishing, and diving. There are also plenty of picturesque local beaches. Ilfracombe boasts its very own, or you could venture further to Woolacombe Bay (six miles away), Barricane Bay (six Miles away), or Saunton Sands (10 miles away). Ilfracombe also has a strong arts heritage, boasting a few theatres and 10 small art galleries. For the foodies, there are a number of highly reputable local eateries, including Thomas Carr's new restaurant ‘1873', which received a Michelin Star in 2020 (Thomas’ previous location having enjoyed a Michelin Star from 2017 onwards) . The menu is at 1873 is based around locally caught ingredients and the restaurant is open all year round with reduced opening in the winter season.
