Originally built in the sixteenth century, it boasts a south-facing lawn alongside a luxury hot tub with extensive views of the picturesque Devon countryside. Further hosting a private garden with a terraced area complete with garden furniture and a barbecue alongside an indoor wood burner found in the open-plan living area, this property is a relaxing retreat all year round. Sleeping six across three bedrooms, the Old Farmhouse is the perfect bolthole for a family holiday. Featuring wooden beams and rustic interiors, this property is a quaint rural retreat. The first bedroom, located downstairs, offers up an ensuite bathroom for extra accessibility. Upstairs there are two extra bedrooms, with the main bedroom furnished with a super king-sized double four-poster bed with a marble-lined ensuite shower room for added privacy. The second bedroom hosts twin beds which can be made into a superking if required, with the marble-lined family bathroom located adjacent.
Should guests need the extra space, the Old Farmhouse is linked via a passageway to the Georgian House next door. Guests can book both properties together to sleep a total of fifteen people, making it the perfect destination for a family reunion or friends' get together.
When it comes to things to do, guests have access to a whole host of amenities on-site. Be sure to walk the extensive grounds, soaking in the views, before going for a dip in the heated indoor swimming pool. Kids will love the indoor soft play area, and the large wooden outdoor play area, as well as the games room, which has a table tennis table and table football. Throughout your stay you also have access to an honesty shop for additional provisions, a huge fire pit area to make marshmallow memories, and electric vehicle charging point.
Situated close to Illfracombe and Woolacombe, in North Devon, the Old Farmhouse is situated in an area where you can try your hand at many rural activities for all the family. The National Trust Dunster Castle and Watermill is a country house with one thousand years of history, with the West Somerset Railway posing a trip back in time through the rolling hills of Devon.
Exmoor Zoological and Conservation Centre and Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park wield exciting afternoons for the little ones, with the Valley of Rocks and Tarr Steps quintessential locations for nature lovers. The Quantock Hills boast scenic walks over the rural terrain, with the National Trust Watersmeet park offering up woodlands, rivers and waterfalls. There are also some fantastic beaches nearby where guests can spend time walking on the sand or in the water on stand-up paddleboards. Be sure to try Tunnels Beach, Illfracombe Harbour, Capstone Hill or Lee Bay Beach, or try the South West Coast Path Walk from Illfracombe to the Torrs to sample some of North Devon’s impeccable views.
