This grand country retreat, set over three floors with plenty of nooks and crannies, sleeps 20 in 10 bedrooms and is the perfect place for a special family occasion or a large group holiday.

When you enter the striking old hallway you'll feel like you've stumbled into an Austen novel. It has echoes of a time when you needed twenty staff just to get out of bed. This stately house is incredibly spacious and easily swallows up a large party without being cold or forbidding. In fact all of the rooms are incredibly cosy and there's a plenty of them to snuggle down in and get comfy.

Grab a good thriller (this place screams Agatha Christie) and settle into a plush sofa in the large living room with the wood burner crackling away and a big glass of wine to keep you company.

The breakfast kitchen with its four oven oil-fired AGA gives the place a very rustic hub to sit around throughout the day. Send the kids to play hide and seek. Just be sure to do a head count before you leave. You'll have everything you need to prepare a fabulous feast and keep it warm in the AGA whilst you don your fancy outfits and gather in the drawing room for a lifter before sitting down in the gorgeous formal dining room, crammed full of antique furniture, where all 20 guests can enjoy supper as an inglenook fireplace warms the room.

When it's time for bed, head through the maze of stairways to find your room. All ten are spacious and decorated with a vintage touch and plenty of antiques to make you feel like the lord or lady of the manor. Four of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities and there are two extra family bathrooms for the rest to share.

If it's drizzly you can head to the rather marvellous games room which has another wood burner, a little kitchen for snack prep and glory of glories, a pool table!
When it's sunny the kids can play on the huge lawns or take a swim in the pool, whilst you sit and watch on from the patio with a glass of champagne and the unspoilt rolling countryside to enjoy.

Tenbury Wells is a charming, ancient market town situated on the banks of the River Teme in Worcestershire and has many independent shops, pubs and tea rooms and plays host to many festivals throughout the year, notably the Applefest in October and Holly and Mistletoe around Christmas. It is home to weekly craft and farmers’ markets and a fully restored Art Deco cinema with a full programme of events. Further afield you can explore the charming market town of Ludlow, or for big walks, head to the Shropshire or Malvern Hills.
