Collection of three award winning cottages in the heart of the Wye Valley offering big groups a fabulous stay near the Brecon Beacons and Hay-on-Wye.
Time sensitive - don't hang around...
Located in the picturesque Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Monnington House, Garden Cottage and The Cider Mill can all be booked together to offer large groups an amazing retreat in stunning surroundings. Sleeping 24 people across three beautiful properties that offer 12 spacious bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, this is the ideal location for family reunions or big group getaways with friends.
First up is Monnington House which boasts a contemporary and well-equipped kitchen centred around a spacious island – perfect for collaborative cooking sessions or simply relaxing with a glass of wine while catching up with loved ones. Adjacent to the kitchen is a generous dining room, which features a giant table and ample seating for all guests, making social dinners a breeze. Patio windows provide panoramic views of the garden and underfloor heating ensures a cosy atmosphere throughout the year.
When it comes to down time, there's a separate sitting room, a drawing room and a snug, offering plenty of space for lounging on oversized sofas, watching movies or enjoying a few moments of peace. When bedtime beckons, Monnington House has six bedrooms that offer a mix of super-king and twin rooms. All feature zip-and-link beds for added flexibility. All bedrooms have their own bathroom.
Next up is the smaller Garden Cottage which adjoins Monnington House and has a charming sitting room with patio doors that open onto a private terrace. This terrace is furnished with an outdoor table and chairs, providing an idyllic spot for a peaceful morning coffee. Back inside, the cottage has a nicely-equipped kitchen that has all the essentials, and features a small dining table, making it suitable for light meals, breakfast and beverages.
Garden Cottage sleeps six guests across three spacious bedrooms, each boasting its own ensuite shower/bathroom. The cottage includes a ground floor accessible bedroom with hypoallergenic bedding, catering specifically to individuals with asthma.
And last but most certainly not least, is the nearby Cider Mill, which has a fabulous open-plan living area, housing a modern kitchen, a large dining table and a lounge. This room provides ample room for everyone to hang out while the designated chef prepares dinner. In the summertime, you can open the French doors to access the pretty enclosed garden with lots of wonderful flowers and offers a south-facing paved terrace where you can dine alfresco in the summer or BBQ some local produce in the sun on the Weber BBQ.
The sleek and stylish kitchen is well-equipped to make meal prep a delight and once dinner is ready, you can choose to dine on the patio in the fresh country air or inside at the elegant Indian dining table. After dinner, gather around the faux woodburner in the inviting lounge for a movie night or a box-set marathon on the smart TV. Or gather back at Monnington House for an evening socialising with the rest of the group!
The Cider Mill has three bedrooms that each boast (zip-and-link) super-king size beds with 400 thread count Egyptian linen, ensuring a luxurious night's sleep. Each bedroom offers delightful views, either of the picturesque Wye Valley or the garden. All three bedrooms include an ensuite shower room or bathroom and an additional WC for added privacy.
All three properties sit within beautiful, sprawling grounds, with an abundance of space for you to spread out and have fun. There are two acres of gardens and large lawns that feature a football field that kids will love and there’s also a games room with a pool table and table tennis!
When it comes to filling your days, you will be nicely placed to explore this marvellous part of the country. The markets towns of Hereford, Hay on Wye and Presteigne are all within a 20-minute drive of your door. Guests can also enjoy a fun-filled day out go karting at the Hereford Raceway at nearby Weobley or try their hand at playing padel in the sports club in Hereford.
If you wish to explore on foot you can walk from the house down part of the Wye Valley Walk to Brobury Bridge and then onto the Red Lion at Bredwardine.
