This charming stone cottage is located down a cobbled path, just a short distance from the heart of Newlyn town centre. Original features seamlessly blend with coastal tones to create a breezy yet cosy space to unwind after wind-whipped walks along the beach. With sea views from the bedroom, a garden for enjoying an alfresco tipple and all the modern amenities needed for a laidback stay, you’ll certainly want for nothing here.
Downstairs is the living-dining area, comprising a comfortable sofa for curling up with a hot drink and a wood-burning stove to keep things cosy if the weather takes a turn. When you’re feeling peckish, head through to the kitchen to find all the accoutrements needed to rustle up something tasty. Caffeine connoisseurs will be pleased to know there’s also a clever coffee machine that uses both pods and grounds. A boot room completes the ground floor, which makes coming home with muddy wellies a stress-free experience.
Upstairs, the bedroom boasts a double bed dressed in crisp white linens guaranteeing a restful night’s sleep, and the bathroom is complete with a rolltop bath and rainfall shower for soaking off the day. If you’ll be mixing business with pleasure, there is a workspace in the day room for catching up on emails. On a sunny afternoon, make a beeline for the furnished balcony for glimpses of St Michael’s Mount.
The abode also benefits from a private garden where you’ll find subtropical plants and an apple tree ripe for the picking in the late summer. The small lawn is the ideal spot for a picnic accompanied by a glass or two of Pimm’s.
Exploring couldn’t be easier – shops, seafood restaurants and the Newlyn Filmhouse, a contemporary independent cinema, are within a short saunter of the doorstep. Ready to wet your whistle? The Tolcarne Inn is your closest pub, just five minutes away. Stretch your legs and take the 30-minute walk along the South West Coast Path into Penzance, or jump in the car and drive no more than seven minutes into quaint Mousehole.
