Just a short walk from Sennen village and just moments from the sublime Whitesands Bay, Cat’s Cradle is a calming hideout for dreamy, loved-up days. Discover beguiling, sandy coves and adventure up rugged, crumbling cliffs, watching mesmerising sunsets transform into star-studded bliss. Look out for playful, dancing dolphins or captivating seals, before heading inland to the ancient woodlands and their wild, untouched scenes.
The charming stone cottage is nestled in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and fuses flourishing, open countryside with the soothing sounds of the sea. Just 200metres from the beach, on the edge of private Vellandreath Valley, it is a well-kept secret offering peace and tranquillity. For that added slice of seclusion, you get to leave your car at the top of the valley, throwing your luggage on the tractor and meandering down the sandy pathway.
Winding granite steps lead down to your snug, lover’s haven where you can while away your days in complete and utter romance. Wonder at the seductive sea views and the magical starry skies, curling up for long morning lie-ins or cuddling up beside the crackling fire.
Its interiors have been finished with a timeless character and blend vintage touches with pure, natural textures. Expect a cosy array of rugs scattered on bare slate floors, looking up at thick timber beams and exposed granite walls.
The open-plan living-kitchen area is perfect for two and is joined by a light-filled conservatory with pretty sea views. Cook in the bijou kitchen or sink into the comfy leather sofa, dining around the intimate table and lighting the classic wood burner. An ornate spiral staircase leads up to the gorgeous double bedroom, complete with a Victorian brass bed and tempting ocean vistas.
Spend your days relaxing on your serene sea-view patio, gazing at the lilting waves and the ever-changing sand dunes. Take a walk down to Sennen Beach and make footprints in the sand or don your ocean wetsuits and sign up to a surfing class. Famous Land’s End is just a mile down the coast, while Penzance and St Ives can be found a little further out. Mousehole and Porthcurno are also well worth a visit, and are brimming with quaint, village tearooms and centuries-old inns.
