The Yard is newly renovated and boasts modern facilities combined with rustic style. As you enter, you can’t help but notice the huge double doors that look out over the Dartmoor countryside. Light and airy, it’s the perfect bolthole in the South West. The super-comfy oak king size bed, adorned with plush luxury bedding, urges you to relax and embrace a slower pace of life. There’s also enough space for a cot bed for a little one and a dog bed for your well-behaved four-legged friend.
The small kitchenette is ideal for cooking up meals at any time of the day, and the cosy living and dining area is perfect for those lazy rainy days. In the summer months, dine alfresco in your private garden or use the BBQ and fire pit facilities onsite. The Yard boasts tea and coffee-making facilities for those mornings when you need a warm cup of something to welcome the new day.
The Yard has a private bathroom with a loo and a sink and is perched right next to the Shower Barn where there are plenty of showering facilities. On those days when you fancy looking after yourself, book a private sauna or wood-fired hot tub session to soak away the stresses of the modern world. Alternatively, a freestanding Bateau bath sits in the corner of The Yard… especially good after a long day spent exploring Devon! Nature lovers are spoilt with all the walking trails, rugged tors and even golden sandy beaches all within easy reach. Roadford Lake is perfect for paddleboarding, while the River Dart is a kayaker’s paradise. Riding stables and mountain bike hire companies are plentiful, but if you fancy something slower-paced, make sure you bring your fishing rod to take in the bounty of angling spots.
Nearby, the towns of Launceston, Lifton and Tavistock offer plenty of independent pubs, cafes and shops for the essentials. Further afield, the bustling city of Plymouth boasts everything you need for a culture-filled day out.
