Enjoy staying in your own hidden corner of West Cornwall at Little Petra, a holiday cottage overlooking Sennen's Whitesands Bay in West Penwith. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, guests can wake up each morning to the sweeping sands of one of the UK's most stunning coastlines.
Combining rustic charm with modern luxury, the cottage accommodates up to 6 people. Downstairs is the open plan living and dining area with its wooden beams, granite walls, slate floor, and wood burning stove in an inglenook fireplace for those cosy nights in. There is also a large dining table, as well as a TV, DVD player, and WiFi throughout. This leads into the galley kitchen, which boasts sea views across the garden and is complete with a microwave, washer/dryer, and dishwasher.
Stairs lead up from this light and airy space to the first floor. Here are the 3 bedrooms. The first is a double with an ornate antique iron bed, while there are 2 further bedrooms each with a single bed and a built in bed. There is also the bathroom with a shower over the bath, basin, and toilet.
Outside is the private and secluded garden, which overlooks the white sands and turquoise sea and backs onto tumbling sand dunes. There is outdoor furniture to sit back and relax in as the sun sets, as well as a barbecue in order to enjoy alfresco dining during the Cornish summer.
Just around the corner from Land's End, Whitesands Bay truly lives up to its name and is around a mile of glorious sandy beach. With the full force of the Atlantic Ocean hitting the shore, this is a popular destination with surfers and there is wet suit hire and surfboard hire locally, as well as lessons for those beginners. The neighbouring beach is called Gwynver and is at the base of steep granite cliffs and is another surfer's paradise. Sennen itself is a small village but does have a number of shops, cafes, and pubs and is close to St Ives, Penzance, St Michael's Mount, and other popular attractions.
