Oozing rural charm with modern amenities throughout, the Devon Farmhouse is a calming and comfortable retreat in South Devon. This marvellous home sleeps up to eight guests and is perfect for a holiday with family or friends, offering a delightful base from which to explore the surrounding scenery and nearby beaches.
As you enter, you’ll be able to gather in the cosy lounge, with its hardwood floors and big sofas. Unwind here with a good book or a glass of wine as you catch up with loved ones in front of the flickering fireplace. There’s also a film projector here for movie nights and a piano should you wish to play a tune or two.
Budding chefs will love the beautiful kitchen, with its modern appliances that make meal preparation a joy. There’s also a large kitchen island here, where you can perch with a drink in hand and keep the designated chef company as they work away. You also have a Nespresso coffee machine for that all-important first cup of the day.
When dinner’s ready, head to the charming dining room with its ornate table that’s big enough to seat your entire group. This is a beautiful space that is full of natural light and makes a lovely destination for social meals together. There’s also a bar/serving station here, to make serving dinner a breeze. Also downstairs is a handy utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, basin and loo.
Guests also have access to the study, where you’ll find another wood-burner, a writing desk, a sofa and a smart TV.
Heading upstairs, you’ll find four superb bedrooms that all offer a wonderful night’s sleep. The master bedroom has a king size bed and a free-standing cast iron, claw-foot bath where you can settle in for an indulgent soak after a day exploring the area. The second bedroom has a double, whilst the third can be arranged as a queen or twin room. Finally, the fourth bedroom has a king size bed and an ensuite bathroom for added privacy.
You and your loved ones also have access to the family bathroom, boasting a luxurious cast iron claw-foot bath and a deluxe walk-in shower.
Step outside on warm days and relax in the walled garden at the front of the house, fully enclosed and perfect for toddlers and dogs, or enjoy the sunny courtyard just off the kitchen. Across the lane, you'll find a sprawling one-acre paddock with a firepit and BBQ area, plus a rustic stable studio – ideal for artists, writers, yoga sessions or a magical children’s den.
If you want to venture out and explore, you can wander enchanting Woodland Trust trails, a whimsical Pooh sticks bridge and riverside rambles right from your front door. For seaside adventures, Bantham Beach, South Milton Sands, Thurlestone Beach and Hope Cove are all just a short drive away, offering wild, windswept beauty, surfing, watersports and breathtaking coastal walks.
