The highlights

The detail

Bogee Cottage is a charming stone house with a very stylish interior. It's situated on a 110 acre working farm surrounded by beautiful Cornish countryside, sheep, cows and the pet goats, Sunny and Billy. It's one of several self-catering cottages dotted around the farm so as well as the owners, you may bump into other guests as you wander around. It would be perfect for a couple or a solo adventurer wanting to explore all that Cornwall has to offer.

You enter the cottage through its own little gated garden where you'll find a bistro table and two chairs nestled under the window in case you'd like to enjoy a welcome drink in the sun and take in the surrounding views.

When you head inside you'll be delighted by the modern and elegant interior which belies its chocolate box exterior.

You'll find an open plan kitchen, dining and living room with exposed floorboards and blue/grey walls that create a fresh but cosy ambience. To the right is a fully fitted kitchen with everything you'll need to create delicious meals which you can share at the dining table for two by the window, or out in the garden.

The living area has a big plush blue corner sofa decked out in cushions, a red rug and a wood burner that will keep you extra warm and comfy as you watch films on the wall mounted flat screen TV. The décor is simple and elegant with some beautiful modern art adorning the walls.

Upstairs you'll find a spacious and equally elegant bedroom with a super-king size bed made up with crisp linens, plenty of cushions and pillows and a warm throw. When it's time to rise and shine you can head through to your ensuite and enjoy a long blast in the large walk-in shower before heading down to make your plans for the day.

You might choose to spend the day in and around the farm and laze about in the wood-fired hot tub to the side of the cottage. This is also a great treat to save for after a long walk and accompanied by a bottle of fizz!

Padstow is close by and renowned for being the food capital of Cornwall with Michelin recommended gems like Paul Ainsworth’s No. 6, Rick Stein’s Seafood restaurant and Prawn on the Lawn, to name a few. If you're a food lover then do research in advance and book some magnificent meals for during your stay.

You'll also be close to some stunning sandy beaches around three to four miles away including Harlyn Bay, Constantine Bay and Bedruthan Steps. So why not pack up a picnic and head out for a day of swimming and exploring? The Eden Project is worth an entire day and you can enjoy some great wine tasting at Camel Valley Vineyards. The hosts are also very happy to recommend some hidden gems for you to discover. And after all that you can head back to your cottage on the farm, sink into the hot tub and watch the stars come out.
