Macdonald's Farm camping site is situated in beautiful Porthcothan Bay in Padstow with the Potting Barn tucked away in the exclusive private glamping area. This cosy delightful wood cabin is just right for couples or solo travellers seeking a cosy and private place to unwind surrounded by nature and close to the stunning beach.
The campsite is nestled at the top of a valley surrounded by small enclaves offering wonderful panoramic views and the Potting Barn is cosy, rustic and nice and private. This lovely cabin has been designed to provide maximum comfort. There's a deluxe king size bed made up for you with crisp linens, a warm duvet and pretty cushions where you can kick back and relax in blissful comfort and watch a film on the TV.
A mini kitchen area comes fully kitted out with a combo microwave oven, dual ring hob and everything you'll need to whip up a meal which you can enjoy at the breakfast bar for two. There's a small ensuite toilet so you don't have to march to the shared facilities in the middle of the night. When it's time for bed, light up the wood burner, climb into your lush bed and enjoy a peaceful night's sleep with the sound of the logs crackling in the background.
When you waken to a new sunny day just grab a towel and stroll to the brand new shower facilities by the entrance of the site. And when you return refreshed, you can make some coffee and enjoy it in the most delightful of this cabin's aspects, its private garden! Settle into the cushioned rattan furniture in peace and solitude as you make your plans for the day.
You may choose to rustle up some breakfast in the cabin, but if you prefer to let someone else handle the cooking you can head over to Fire & Stone, which is their new Smokehouse and Pizza Shed. Take breakfast on the terrace with gorgeous views and enjoy supper in the garden at the picnic benches beneath the festoon lights and make use of the bar!
Porthcothan Beach, which is located in the 'Seven Bays', is a short 10-minute stroll down the hill, or a five-minute bus ride if you're loaded up with picnic and sandcastle building tools. It's an idyllic sandy cove backed by grassy dunes and a haven for swimmers and bodyboarders. It's pretty crowd-free but has been put somewhat on the map by its starring roll in the BBC series Poldark!
After a day of sun, sea and sand you can head back up the hill, wash the sand away and head over to the Fire & Stone for a cold drink and a good meal. Or if you'd prefer a quieter evening why not light up your BBQ, get the fire pit going, sink into the comfy chairs and watch the stars up above.
