Beautiful Georgian cottage with a walled garden located in the heart of 300 acres of parkland in North Norfolk, close to Norwich and the coast.
Set in the heart of the 300 acre Worstead Park, with its own private walled garden, Estate Cottage is perfect for families looking for a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle. Surrounded by stunning parkland, designed by the famous Humphry Repton over 250 years ago, the cottage was once home to the estate’s head gardener. Guests are welcome to explore the woodlands and stroll down the paths along the lake’s edge or to retreat to their own private patio with its BBQ and six-seater hot tub.
The interiors of Estate Cottage have been carefully restored to the building’s original Georgian style. Elegant furnishings complement the bright, airy rooms created by high ceilings and large windows. On the ground floor, you’ll find the kitchen and living spaces. After dinner, gather around the log burner in the living room and challenge the family to a board game. The cosy library is the perfect spot to retreat to in the evenings with armchairs and sofas to snuggle up on with a good book.
Head upstairs to find the bedrooms and bathrooms. There are two king size bedrooms, one of which has an ensuite and the other has access to a family bathroom. The third bedroom also has an ensuite and can be made up with twin beds or a super-king size bed. All of the bedrooms have been furnished in the same elegant Georgian style with neutral colour palettes and luxurious bedding. A relaxing place to escape to at the end of a busy day exploring Norfolk’s beaches and countryside.
Outside, within the cottage’s walled garden, you’ll find a large lawn, ideal for games and a patio area with outdoor dining space and a BBQ. There’s also a games room with table tennis, pool and air hockey. In the evenings get the hot tub going and sit out late into the night, stargazing in the dark skies.
Estate Cottage is perfectly located for exploring some of the best parts of Norfolk. In one direction, you’ll find yourself in bustling Norwich, wandering through the cobbled streets of the UK’s most complete medieval city. In the other, you’ll find the sweeping sandy beaches of North Norfolk, such as Winterton-on-Sea. Head up the coast to Cromer for some fish and chips or to try your hand at crabbing from the pier. Further south and you’ll reach the Norfolk Broads National Park with its huge array of flora and fauna. Hire a boat for the day and take in the stunning scenery as you gently float along the waterways.
