Be enchanted by The Dragons Nest, a totally unique property in Brixham that has an interesting design or style detail around every corner. Children and adults alike will be delighted at this Devon getaway that mixes magic and fantasy into its very essence.
Taking its name from the two baby dragon sculptures on the chimney stack, there is truly inspired design throughout this one-of-a-kind holiday escape in the South West. With its central location in the town, this four-storey house has stunning views across the harbour and to the bay beyond.
Upon entering The Dragons Nest from the street, guests walk straight into the hub which is a spacious open plan kitchen and dining area. With a six burner double oven, large fridge/freezer, and plenty of pots, pans, crockery, and glassware, there is everything needed to cook up a feast. The focal point of the dining area is the large fireplace with chestnut roasting tray, while the large table, wood panelled walls and leather sofa gives it a feeling of rich luxury. There is also a utility room and a smart bathroom and WC.
Stairs lead up to the first floor and the lounge, complete with its two sofas, games, books, TV, and music system to keep those of all ages entertained along with the master bathroom with a super-luxurious roll top bath and walk-in shower. The first of two master bedrooms is also on this level, complete with an en suite. On the second floor landing is a traditional rocking horse, and just long from here is the second master bedroom with another comfy king size bed. There's also the Captain's Cabin with a nice built-in 3/4 double bed. In keeping with Dragons Nest's quirky nature, up on the second floor you'll find a backdoor which takes you outside to a lovely terrace and the private, elevated lawn garden with views over the harbour - perfect for a picnic or evening drink.
At the top of the building is the attic. This is an open plan space with a double bed, sofa bed, pull out single bed, and its own private WC to save any night time trips downstairs.
A short walk leads to the harbour itself with its array of shops, restaurants, cafes, and bars. The Shoalstone outdoor pool and famous fish market are also popular spots in town. Guests are sure to enjoy a wonderful seaside break at this delightful property perched on the harbour's edge.

Leave a reviewDragons Nest is situated in the perfect spot to enjoy everything Brixham has to offer. The house is quirky and interesting and we all really enjoyed our week spent here. There were four adults and three 16 year old boys and Dragons Nest was spacious enough for us all to have time apart, but also the sitting room and dining area could easily accommodate all of us to spend time together. The boys loved the games table in the kitchen diner. The garden gave us magnificent views across the bay, and views from the lounge, captains cabin and principal bedroom over the quay were wonderful. This is a lovely property and I would highly recommend a visit. Nick and Lynn were great at communicating with us beforehand and checked that all was ok once we settled in.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Dragon's Nest. The house is comfortable and really interesting and the views from the front of the house, as well as the garden are stunning. Really enjoyed being right in Brixham so we could pop out to the shops, go out for food or enjoy some of the lovely walks right on the doorstep.

We are repeat visitors to the Dragons Nest and absolutely love it. Great location. Brilliant coms. Spotlessly clean. Already rebooked. ( Not great if you have accessibility issues with stairs. ) We also love the over the roof garden terraces - amazing views. Fully recommend.

We stayed as a family joint holiday spanning 3 generations with members from 6 months to mid sixties. What a great location for immersion into the Brixham vibe! The house sits right in the middle of the historic port area so you don’t need to drive at all if you don’t want to. Easy access to ferries, trips etc from the quayside and great position for all the cafes and bars! The building itself is so quirky and historic that it defies attempts to pin it down to an era or architectural style really. On that note beware headroom if you’re tall although two of us were over 6 feet tall and no serious issues. Access through the property would be difficult to anyone who has moderate mobility limitations though, which is unavoidable for a beautiful old house like this! Furnishings and beds all comfortable and variety of bedrooms gives flexibility for different needs in a group. Highly recommended!!

Rented for 7 days for 7 of us - family holiday. Really enjoyed it - the location is perfect overlooking the beautiful harbour, lots of great food vendors around tons to do in the area. The house was quirky and lovely - mind the low ceilings if you are 6' - especially on the top floor. Very well appointed, everything you could need. Doggy friendly in the house and Brixham is a very doggy friendly town (apart from the beach). Wonderful time guaranteed

We really loved our stay at the Dragon's Nest; the location was perfect and only a minutes walk from the shops, restaurants and pubs of Brixham. Each day we walked to the harbour and out to harbour wall where we regularly saw seals. The house has magnificent views over the working harbour, which constantly change through out the day and into the night when the harbour lights come into their own. The house was lovely, quirky and cosy and extremely well equipped and our girls loved the cabin bed. We'd love to come back and enjoy the garden some more, the views from the top terrace were fabulous and the BBQ patio was lovely and private. We all loved Brixham with its working harbour, local charm, beautiful walks up to Berry Head, but what made for an excellent weekend, was Dragon's Nest and our exceptional hosts.

We stayed here during the October half term. We took our two children (aged 4 & 8), our parents and my Nana (aged 91) and we all absolutely loved it! The stairs to all levels kept us all fit! The garden gets better the further you go up but we weren’t really able to enjoy it as it wasn’t the weather needed. The views are just fantastic! Situated right on the harbour you could not ask for more. The house is so quirky and just being in the house feels like an adventure in itself. We didn’t use our car once; lots of fishing, crabbing, eating and walking! We would love to stay here again. Only downside is unloading and loading the car as parking is away from the house and you can’t really stop the car outside the house for very long.

Had a lovely week in the dragons den. Even though not hot all week lots to do including crabbing, walks, penny arcades, trips down the coast. House very comfortable to relax in and fully equipped including washer and drier. Brixham is a lovely friendly place with great restaurants although I would recommend booking.

We really enjoyed our stay at Dragons Nest in Brixham harbour. Brixham is so well positioned for great coastal walks, exploring beautiful coves, water sports and easy access to other locations. Dragons Nest is so convenient with such a central location. You can walk to shops, restaurants, bars, ferries and beaches. There are wonderful views of the harbour from the house and those from the top garden, which are simply stunning. A wonderful place to unwind. The house itself is very well equipped, clean with a high level of finish. All the bedrooms have plenty of storage. The owners and local support were both very helpful I would highly recommend.

Such an attractive stay. A picture perfect location along with a beautifully thought laid-out interior will leave you mesmerised absorbing the day to day wanderings through the windows of both locals and tourists along the harbour front. Wake to the calling gulls chasing the morning catch; watch the tidal sea creep its way in and out all this before you even think about exploring outside. A 'healthy' climb up the side steps reveals a hidden garden contoured to the cliff face — the perfect place for a glass and to watch the harbour lights up as dusk falls. Local convenience stores are just a short walk away, as are the many quality restaurants and bars and who could not forget to mention the best English Fish & Chips. (Sorry Whitby you may have lost the 'Golden Potato' award!) Location 5 / 5. Comfort 5 / 5. Instagramability 5+ / 5.

We had a great time at Dragons Nest, it is such a quirky place and you can tell some serious effort has gone in by some skilled craftsmen. LOVED the open fire with the traditional spit. The views out of every window are simply stunning, they have supplied everything you could need and more, the owners and their communication was great! We would, and will 100% return for another stay, hopefully longer next time as there is so much to explore.

Very sweet house in a wonderful location. Everything we needed was there, and anything that wasn't was available within a 2 minute walk. We enjoyed Brixham very much, ate some superbly fresh fish, and walked it off on the sea wall. The views over the harbour are just lovely. I would highly recommend The Dragons Nest.
