Spring Cottage is a pretty Cotswold stone property in an idyllic and enviably quiet location on the edge of the village of Shipton-under-Wychwood. This cosy home benefits from a beautiful outlook over neighbouring gardens to fields beyond and boasts many characterful features including exposed beams and timbers, stripped pine floors and doors, painted stone walls and an attractive fireplace. This delightful and peaceful country retreat will provide the ideal location to relax with family or friends.
The interiors are a study in country chic. The welcoming lounge features a TV and cosy log burner stove set in an impressive fireplace and is the perfect place to gather around playing board games at the end of the day. Or why not have a tinkle at the piano?
The modern yet rustic kitchen with its beamed ceiling and island unit is well equipped to create hearty meals, which you can enjoy at the dining table while planning your next day’s adventures. A handy laundry room provides a washer, dryer and an extra toilet for your convenience.
Upstairs, you’ll find three stylish bedrooms which are all light, airy and comfortably furnished in restful tones and fabrics. One has a king size bed while the other two are doubles and all boast super-comfy Simba mattresses. A trundle single bed with a memory foam mattress is also available on request. All of the bedrooms are welcoming spaces to retire to at the end of a long day and guarantee a wonderful night's sleep.
The cottage has a modern ensuite shower room upstairs and a fab family bathroom with a Whirlpool bath with a shower over the top. Both of these bathrooms are complete with fluffy towels and toiletries and prettily decorated with wood panelling and Victorian-style fixtures. So after a day exploring the area rest those weary muscles and hop into the bath for a relaxing soak. There's also a third bathroom on the ground floor that comes with laundry facilities and a WC.
Outside, there is a lovely, peaceful enclosed garden with a BBQ, table and chairs where you can sit in tranquility with a drink or dine surrounded by wildlife. In the fields, you can spot muntjac deer, pheasants and ducks and at night you can hear owls hooting.
Shipton-under-Wychwood is rich with history and is perfectly positioned to venture to other stunning areas of the Cotswolds. It is surrounded by many remarkable towns such as Bidbury, Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh, Bourton-on-the-Water and Woodstock. Explore quaint villages and endless fields and see if you can discover some hidden gems.
Guests can also visit the fantastic Daylesford Organic Farm, which has everything you need for your organic grocery shopping, from seasonal fruit and vegetables harvested from their Market Garden to fresh organic meat and fish from their butcher’s counter and fishmonger. Guests should also try dining at The Wild Rabbit in Kingham, which has an award-winning kitchen that uses the finest seasonal ingredients to create dishes that celebrate traditional British cooking.
