This superb home on Newquay’s sought-after Pentire Peninsula perches above the Gannel Estuary, creating a one-off escape with an amazing view.
Boasting incredible views that span the estuary's azure waters, reaching all the way over to Crantock Beach and beyond, this architecturally imagined house is laid out over three floors and has a series of bifold doors that have been designed, not only to bring the outside panoramas in, but also to create that quintessentially indoor/outdoor lifestyle that a truly luxury coastal escape should offer.
Inside there are five beautifully appointed bedrooms along with two bathrooms and a fantastic cinema room which has access to the pool terrace while upstairs (spanning all of the top floor) lies the fabulous master bedroom with its super king size bed and en-suite bathroom. Flooded with natural light, large bifolds open the space out to the private balcony where showstopping, wide angle views form the perfect backdrop to morning coffees and pre-dinner bubbly, and along with its own sofa and television, it creates a sumptuous sanctuary for couples looking to enjoy a lie-in away from the sounds of breakfast chatter downstairs. On the ground floor, a vast open plan living / dining/ cooking area balances practical space with beautiful furnished comfort to create an inviting place for spending time together in, whether whipping up a fabulous meal or chilling out with a glass of wine in front of the fire; and on warmer evenings guests can choose to dine on the balcony while taking in more of those extraordinary sea views.
A key element of large family holiday homes is their entertainment space, and Gannel View’s is world-class. Of course, most days will be spent savouring the golden sand and azure waters of the estuary (which is accessed via a private path leading down from the garden), or surfing the swell at nearby Fistral, but for those post-beach afternoons spent at home, there’s a suntrap private terrace that offers a completely boutique hotel-esque edge to the property. Set on slate tiles and adorned with sun loungers, a cantilever parasol and lounge suite, this stunning area also features a plunge pool, and together with magnificent water views and a lush tropical setting of mature plants and established gardens, it’s an other-worldly spot to savour the Cornish sea air as well as the home’s spectacular coastal setting.
Pentire Peninsula has long been regarded as a bit of a gem on Cornwall's north coast and being positioned just five minutes drive from Newquay town centre and just two minutes walk from Fistral Beach, it's easy to see why. With the beautiful ruggedness of the Cornish coastline to the north and the Gannel estuary to the south, it offer visitors the best of both worlds, contrasting the verdant, undulating landscape of the river. Private access from the bottom of the property's garden means guests can meander down to the river bank where they can wade in the shallows or paddle a surfboard across the water to Crantock Beach which is just a short walk away.
Please note: minimum stay for this property is: 2 nights low season & 7 nights high season
