Cloudsrock is a calming and beautiful home in Cornwall offering groups of up to 10 guests a serene, luxurious retreat. The impressive interior design makes use of dynamic, open-plan layouts, underfloor heating, modern appliances, and the incredible grounds that look out over the sea.
The main social hub is its outstanding kitchen/dining/living area with a grand central island and lots of work surface space, fully equipped to ensure budding chefs have all they need to whip up delicious feasts. The beautiful dining table sits beneath a semi-glazed ceiling next to gigantic sliding glass doors that open onto the south-facing terrace. In summer, slide them open to let the outside in, and in cooler months simply dine inside whilst gazing out at the view.
Adjacent is the wonderfully cosy lounge with a wood-burning fireplace to stay toasty warm all year round. Settle into the large, comfy sofas and armchairs with a glass of wine and socialise long into the night. This space also features a Bose bluetooth speaker and a secondary TV.
Guests can also sneak off into the snug with a squishy L-shaped sofa, masses of cushions and a 40” Samsung Smart HD TV with Sky for sports fans and movie night marathons.
Step outside and you enter the serene estuarine landscape with arching Cypress trees framing stunning views and the grassy expanse of south-facing lawn where you can soak up the sunshine - or escape it if you prefer, in the comfort of the shady Loggia with the view spread before you. The property has a gas-fired BBQ, alfresco dining furniture, soft seating, teak loungers and sun-beds on the first-floor sundeck.
Kids will love playing in the large garden with its multi-swing climbing frame tucked away in one corner and ping-pong in another (adults please see the You Should Know section of this Coolstays listing concerning oversight of children when using the frame).
As night falls, Cloudsrock offers five spacious bedrooms with garden and estuary views. The Master Suite features a super-king bed, ensuite shower room and a wonderful Juliet balcony. This room also opens onto a glass-fronted sundeck - perfect for soaking up the sun or rolling out a yoga mat - which it shares with the second double bedroom, again with super-king bed and a basin vanity unit.
Up next, and both enjoying south-facing vistas is a stylish bunk room and the larger of two twin rooms, with the smaller rear twin room that overlooks the front garden and wild dunes beyond. The west end of the hallway has two inviting family bathrooms, each designed for comfort with sleek sealed wood or cosy flooring. One features a relaxing bathtub for indulgent soaks, while the other offers a spacious drench shower, perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure.
Cloudsrock sits on Cornwall’s north coast, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering endless outdoor adventures and stunning views. Its garden leads to wild dunes, Betjeman’s Brea Hill at Daymer Bay, many coastal cliff walks plus the perfect spot for sundowners on the rise just behind the house.
The wide waters and huge beaches of the Camel Estuary is a dream for watersport enthusiasts of all ages - crabbing, shrimping, sailing, waterskiing, paddleboarding, kayaking – all and more are on offer for hire or for lessons from Rock beach just a skip away from the house, with the Padstow ferry point alongside to open up yet more opportunities for exploration and enjoyment on your holiday.
Back at the house, golfers will love the challenge of the world-class St Enodoc Church course - within pitch shot of the front door, with the family Holywell course and excellent club bar restaurant in which to gather at the end of the day. Returning beach babes can de-sand, peel off wet-suits and make use of the ground floor wetroom shower. Foodies meanwhile can explore the myriad choice of Michelin-starred and other restaurants, pubs and pop-ups on both sides of the Estuary. Nearby beauty spas, art galleries and iconic Cornish gardens like Lanhydrock complete the attraction of this holiday destination, making it the perfect place for all ages and seasons.
