Flying Swans is a newly refurbished luxury home nestled on the banks of Batson Creek just a short walk from bustling Salcombe Harbour. It would be a wonderful choice for friends or a family of up to six seeking an elegant holiday home in beautiful Devon.
The house is impressive from the moment you enter. A light stylish entrance halls leads straight to a lower level day time living room. Saturated in natural light from the huge square windows that act as a frame for the stunning views, it offers lush seating for luxurious lounging and has a distinctly Scandinavian style. The pretty window seating provides an excellent spot to settle with a coffee and admire the panoramic estuary views.
The kitchen runs on from this open plan space and is modern, fully equipped and a gorgeous area to gather together for a welcome glass of fizz. A Quocker tap and Nespresso machine are just a couple of the high-end extras on offer. A large white marble island takes centre stage and serves as a sunny spot to enjoy breakfast or prepare a feast which you can enjoy in the separate dining room.
The dining room has a beautiful long wooden table with high backed tan leather chairs. A perfect place for a celebratory meal making use of all the elegant crockery and glassware provided. Open up the Crittall style doors on to the garden and let the evening sun warm the room.
As well as the day time lounge you'll find an additional snug on the mezzanine level which is cosy and inviting with big comfy sofas and large windows where you can curl up with a good book or enjoy an afternoon nap. There are several flat screen TV's dotted about so you can all get together for a movie night or spend some quality time alone with your favourite show whilst someone else catches up on the game.
The bedrooms are tucked away along a stylish corridor with vaulted ceilings. Pale walls and dark blue doors give you a hint of the grandeur hidden beyond. All three bedrooms are stunning and have been designed in their own distinctive way. The master has natural materials and muted tones creating a tranquil haven with a four poster curtained bed where you can sleep in blissful comfort. Bifold doors open on to a private patio where you can wake with your first coffee in the peace and quiet. This room boasts its own ensuite facilities with a powerful walk-in shower in gorgeously designed luxury.
The second and third bedroom have equally lovely designs with huge comfortable beds bedecked in the finest linens, wonderful attention to detail in the décor and lovely views over the garden and estuary. These two rooms share an impressive Jack and Jill bathroom which has a glorious free-standing deep bath with an external tap so you can enjoy a long soak and make use of the complimentary Land & Water toiletries. There's also a separate shower if you're in a hurry!
In the morning take your coffee out into the lush expansive gardens and have a wander or simply sit on the patio in the comfortable seating and take in the views. You might like to dine alfresco and to this end the hosts have provided a Ninja BBQ and an outdoor gas fire to keep you toasty on chilly evenings. You can spend your day on the sun loungers with a good book or sit at the outdoor dining table and play some cards.
A short pretty stroll will take you from your quiet haven to the bustling life of Salcombe Harbour. This picturesque harbour offers unspoilt natural beauty, a dramatic coastline and plenty of opportunities for sailing, boating, fishing and water-sports. The town itself is a vibrant labyrinth of alleyways and narrow streets full of cafes, restaurants and wonderful locally produced ice cream. And if you fancy a proper seaside pub meal try The Fortescue Inn which offers good food and fine ales! The Crabshell Inn on the quayside also offers a great menu and if you fancy lunch with a view try The South Sands Beachside Restaurant.
