This stunning barn is a minimalist rural retreat that sits in a peaceful spot between the River Orwell and River Stour estuaries. The barn has white walls and clean lines throughout, with a style that is inspired by Scandinavian design. You and your loved ones can rest and unwind in peace whilst enjoying delightful views of the surrounding countryside thanks to the huge sliding windows that flood the living area with natural light.
The open-plan living area features the aforementioned huge glass wall that opens up to let the outside in. Here you’ll find the nicely equipped, modern kitchen, which stretches along one wall and features beautiful oak units. This is a wonderful space to prepare meals and has all the amenities you’ll need to whip up delicious feasts during your stay.
Close to the kitchen sits the stylish oak dining table, where you can gather for meals that stretch long into the night. However, when the weather’s warm you can slide those glass doors open and enjoy a meal in the fresh country air.
Finishing off the living space is the comfy lounge area. Here you’ll find a fab Danish sofa that faces a coffee table and a low cabinet with a 50” TV. There are also two metal reclining chairs where you can rest with a good book.
Back out of the living space and off the entrance hall, is an area for coats and footwear, with a large built-in storage cupboard and a matching bench.
Stepping outside, there is some comfy seating on the patio for alfresco drinks and stargazing, as well as a lovely lawn where you can lounge in the sunshine.
When bedtime beckons, there are two delightful bedrooms to choose from, both with king size beds and electronically operated window blinds. These calming spaces guarantee a peaceful night’s sleep and both share the bathroom with its deluxe freestanding bath and a shower room, with a fantastic walk-in power shower.
During your stay you’re surrounded by woodland and fields and will be next to Suffolk’s largest inland water, Alton Water. Spread over 400 acres of parkland, Alton Water and its Water Sports Centre offer a range of activities including extensive cycle paths, walks, sailing, paddleboarding, windsurfing and fishing, along with local pubs for you to visit throughout your stay.
