This charming residence is tucked away in the peaceful Suffolk village of Risby, which is just a short drive from the "jewel in the crown of Suffolk” - Bury St. Edmunds. Quays Lodge is a listed barn that has been converted into a beautiful retreat where you and your loved ones can unwind in style.

Enter through the front door into the spacious boot room, where you can hang your coats before stepping into the hallway. The lodge’s main living area is a bright and spacious place to rest and socialise with your loved ones. It’s nicely open plan with crisp whitewashed walls combining nicely with the exposed wooden beams and huge windows. Sit up at the breakfast bar with a glass of wine or get comfy on the big corner sofa and luxurious armchair, catching up as the logs crackle away on the wood-burning fireplace. The lounge area also features a 65-inch TV with Sky streaming, so you can settle in for a movie night one evening.

The open plan living area also has a spacious dining area, with a rustic table that comfortably seats four. Prepare a delicious feast in the marvellously equipped, modern kitchen, before enjoying a meal that stretches long into the night. The kitchen features an induction hob, electric oven, microwave oven, dishwasher and an American-style fridge-freezer equipped with cold drinking water and an ice dispenser, so you really do have everything you need.

When the weather’s warm, open the large sliding patio door that opens up onto the south-facing garden. This is the ideal place to dine alfresco on the patio in the warm summer sunshine or while away an evening enjoying drinks as the sun begins to set. The garden also features a BBQ, should you wish to grill up some local produce throughout your stay.

Back inside, if you’re feeling competitive, the lodge has a games room with a pool table and a full darts set up. There’s even a 100 CD jukebox, should you wish to stick some tunes on as you play. The games room also comes with a drinks fridge, bar tables and a selection of games, puzzles and books.

When bedtime beckons, the two bedrooms are tastefully designed and furnished to ensure you get a great night’s sleep. The Woodland bedroom features a super-king size bed that can be converted into two singles if needed. This room has an ensuite shower, complete with a heated towel rail, basin and WC. The Rainforest bedroom offers a king-size bed and its own ensuite shower, which also has a heated towel rail, basin and WC. All of the WCs are stocked with hand soap and toilet rolls for your convenience.

If you wish to venture out and explore, Bury St. Edmunds is home to up to 100 venues where you can eat and drink. You can visit a Michelin Star restaurant (Pea Porridge) or Britain’s smallest pub (The Nutshell). Risby, where you’re based, is also a great spot for a number of country walks, so be sure to pack your boots and head out along the footpaths. You can also bring your bikes and venture out on two wheels. Your location is at the intersection of National Cycle Routes 51 and 13 and Thetford Forest offers scenic off-road tracks for mountain biking, with bike rentals available.
