Set on a working farm in North Essex, Millers is a newly built, luxury holiday cottage designed in the style of a barn, reflecting the heritage of the land. The property is named after one Bullocks Farm’s fields and is now a quiet and relaxing haven for visitors to the area with modern, open-plan living spaces and simple, contemporary decor.
The two-bedroom barn features a large open-plan area which encompasses the kitchen, dining area and living room. The high ceilings and big windows overlooking the farm create a relaxing atmosphere and a wonderful sense of space. The living area has a big comfy sofa and an armchair gathered around a wood-burning stove and the TV, the perfect recipe for cosy evenings in. The stove and the underfloor heating throughout the barn will keep you toasty whatever the weather outside.
The kitchen is fully-equipped with everything you’ll need for a self-catering holiday, including an induction hob and a dishwasher. Pull up a barstool to the kitchen island which is perfectly positioned next to the big windows and enjoy your breakfast with a view. There is also a large dining table where you can tuck into big family dinners while you plan the next day’s adventures. You can take all the hassle out of dinner time by ordering some delicious home-prepared and locally sourced seasonal meals and treats.
The luxurious bedrooms features handmade mattresses and toppers for a good night’s sleep after a day exploring the farm or some of the local towns and villages. One of the bedrooms has a king size bed and the other has a pair of large singles that can be zipped together to create a super-king. You’ll find fluffy towels and White Company products ready for you in the bathroom which has a large walk-in shower.
Millers is located on a 180 acre farm which has a history stretching back at least 350 years. There are plenty of footpaths and cycling routes accessible from the farm for those who want to explore a bit more of the local countryside. There are also lots of charming market towns and villages to discover, such as the bustling town of Saffron Walden which has a great market on Saturdays. Visit the medieval town of Thaxted with its restored windmill and famous guildhall or browse the independent shops and enjoy a cup of coffee in Great Dunmow. There are also plenty of historic houses and gardens nearby, from the grand Kentwell Hall to the fascinating Henry Moore Studios and Gardens.
Please note that the minimum stay for this property is 3 nights
