The Nook is a cosy little house hidden away on its own three-acre patch of ancient farmland. Colemans Farm has conservation at its heart and the surrounding farmland is much as it would have been 150 years ago. You’ll be able to enjoy the results of this approach to farming with the visits from wildlife and the thriving traditional hedgerows and beautiful trees in the woodlands. Sit out on the decking, gathered around the fire pit, or jump into the hot tub and enjoy this secluded escape in beautiful surroundings.
Next to its own pond and hidden away from the rest of the farm, The Nook is in an idyllic setting. The little cabin has been beautifully constructed, using wood from the farm to create the kitchen. Ladders at either end lead to mezzanine bunks which sleep up to four. The bunks capture the heat from the wood burner, creating cosy and restful spaces whatever the weather outside. The ensuite has a shower with hot running water and the kitchen has an electric hob and mini-fridge for rustling up quick meals.
Outside on the deck, a large fire pit is all set up for doing a bit of cooking over open flames. Cooking staples are included and you’ll be given a menu of food that the farm can provide. The traditional hot tub is heated by another wood burner. Get a good fire going and you’ll soon be able to sit out and enjoy the surroundings from the deliciously hot water. As the evening draws in and the stars start to appear, relax with a glass of something and soak up the peace and quiet.
If you want to venture further than your private three acres surrounding The Nook, you are free to explore the 200-acre Colemans Farm. There are tracks across the farm taking you past ancient woodland, hedgerows and streams. You can also explore the surrounding countryside and nearby Epping forest, with plenty of footpaths and cycling routes. The Gibberd Garden is less than half an hour away with its beautiful sculptures, lawns, pools and arboretum. If you need to pick up some essentials, the pretty market town of Epping is close by and well worth a wander.
