Set on its own island in the middle of a lake this rustic log cabin makes for a peaceful getaway. Located on a working farm in the Surrey countryside, you’ll have just the local wildlife and the farm’s Highland cattle for neighbours. Step across the wooden walkway to the cabin, relax in front of the wood burner, go for a soak in the freestanding copper bathtub or even fish from the comfort of your private deck. The Cabin invites you to slow down the pace and reconnect with nature.
The interior of The Cabin is warm and welcoming and has been furnished to complement the rustic surroundings and nature of the building. Get a fire going in the wood burner and relax on the big comfy leather sofas beneath the antler chandelier. Rustle up some dinner in the well-equipped kitchen or get something sizzling on the BBQ outside. On warmer days, open up two sets of French windows out onto the deck and let the fresh countryside air in.
There are two double bedrooms, both cosy with luxurious bedding. One of the rooms has a king size bed and the other is located on a mezzanine level, accessed via a ladder. For a bit of ‘me time’, retreat to the cabin’s bathroom, where you’ll find a gorgeous freestanding copper bathtub.
The private deck outside is where the cabin really comes into its own. Sit back and relax and take in the beautiful lakeside scenery, perhaps doing a spot of fishing while you’re at it. Take a rowing boat out onto the lake or bring your own paddleboards with you. The outdoor wood burner allows you to sit out late into the evening and doubles as a grill so you can cook outdoors or simply toast some marshmallows as you do a bit of stargazing.
There’s plenty to do without even leaving the farm. You have 90 acres to explore, discovering a wide range of wildlife, from birds of prey to deer and badgers. You’re also welcome to forage in the hedgerows for berries or wild garlic and there’s a herb garden where you can pick your own to add some extra flavour to dinner. If you want to venture a little further into the surrounding area, the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty won’t disappoint. Remember to bring the bikes with you or hit the trails on foot, perhaps stopping off at one of the local pubs along the way. For an extra special meal out, Restaurant Tristan in nearby Horsham has a Michelin star.

Leave a reviewI spent my birthday in luxury here with friends and our dogs. The cabin is beautiful with breathtaking views around the entire lake (which is yours exclusively) We have never been to a place where you have a lake to yourself and I even went for a row around the lake. We sat outside in the evenings having BBQ's and relaxing. The beds were comfortable and the copper tub was a lovely touch. The walks around the cabin were enjoyed by our dogs who were so tired by the evening that they just chilled out. Highly recommend if you want to fish in comfort! Hubby caught catfish, carps and mirror carps, he did miss a giant catfish which must have been 40lb+ We loved it so much, that we have already booked to come back next August, coming back for that catfish!!
