Quirky and bohemian to the core, Brighton and Hove is a fun and inclusive city on the coast in East Sussex that offers a huge wealth of things to see and do. Spend sunny afternoons wandering along the iconic seafront, with its pebble beach and historic pier. Grab an ice cream, dip your toes in the water, then head to one of the beachfront pubs or cafes for a drink and a bite to eat.
Head in-land and you’ll find the famous Lanes, where you can explore winding cobbled streets awash with boutique shops, cosy pubs, and incredible restaurants that cater to every taste. Try amazing Japanese BBQ at Bincho Yakitori (be sure to book in advance!), enjoy delicious fresh fish at Riddle and Finns, or head to Burnt Orange for amazing small plates and tasty cocktails. There are so many restaurants to choose from, so do some research first and you’re bound to find somewhere that suits your tastes and budget.
History buffs will also adore this city, with the incredible Pavilion well worth a visit. You can also catch a show or a concert in the beautiful Brighton Dome, or watch a move at the Duke of York's Picturehouse - one of the oldest in the world.
Whatever you choose to do, you can always stop off for a pint in one of the many superb pubs the city has to offer. Enjoy a cosy drink in The Great Eastern, head to the Basketmaker’s Arms where the crowds spill out into the street on sunny days, or visit the Fortune of War for a beachfront pint in summer.
Brighton is packed full of events throughout the year, with the Brighton Festival, Brighton Fringe, and the Great Escape music festival taking place in May and the incredible Brighton Pride in August.
