As you approach the Hut on the Lake, your eyes are immediately drawn to the tranquil waters that lap up directly to your terrace. Your imagination conjures up images of summer evenings sitting by the water with a drink in one hand and perhaps a fishing rod in the other while the BBQ roasts some delicious local produce. As you enter The Hut on the Lake, you can’t help but fall in love with the cosy-yet-luxurious space - your couples’ retreat from the hustle and bustle of the modern world.
The Hut on the Lake has everything you need, and nothing you don’t, for a relaxing countryside escape to relax, recharge and reconnect with nature. The hut boasts a living area with a wood burner and candles for chilly evenings when you just want to curl up under a blanket with a good book, and a private water garden and terrace for those balmy summer nights. Inside, you’ll find board games and books to unwind with, while high-speed WiFi keeps you connected. As the night draws in, slip into the provided bathrobes before sinking into your double bed, adorned with luxury linens for a good night’s sleep.
Your outdoor kitchen, complete with BBQ and fire pit, is the perfect place to cook up fantastic local produce and unwind for an evening. In the mornings, use the indoor kitchen to cook up the supplied welcome breakfast basket, complete with local sausages, bacon and eggs. The smell of a cooked breakfast, combined with freshly brewed coffee from the machine fills the hut and gets you ready for the day ahead. Dine alfresco on the water or in the hut’s living area.
The indoor toilet and shower room are perfect for freshening up for the day ahead, regardless of how you plan to spend it. Anglers who want a relaxing day need not leave the hut, simply cast off from the terrace and sit back, surrounded by mature trees and the sounds of a working farm. Outdoor explorers are well catered for too. Make sure you bring your walking boots as the Surrey Hills AONB, the High Weald National Landscape and the rolling chalk hills of the South Downs National Park are all easily accessible. Alternatively, spend a day wandering the streets and browsing the shops of small towns like Crawley, Horsham, Dorking and Redhill. Further afield, head south for a day in the sun on beautiful Brighton Beach, or head north to take in everything London has to offer.

Leave a reviewWow!! What a beautiful place to stay. The hut is furnished to a very high standard with a comfortable bed and everything you need to make sure you have an amazing stay. Lovely decked area for you to fish with a private garden which was perfect for our dogs. We spent the day walking around the fields and lakes. My husband caught 9 beautiful fish in two days, the biggest being around 14lb. We have stayed at this farm in the other cabins, we wouldn't choose anywhere else to relax and unwind. Highly recommend!

This is much more than a mere “Hut on the lake”. We had such a wonderful experience from the moment of making enquiries, through the booking process to pre-arrival information and the location and accommodation were amazing. You can park about 25m from the cabin and barrows etc are provided to transfer your luggage. Despite being a small space you have all the comfort you need and spotlessly clean. The cooking facilities although basic were more than adequate to prepare an evening meal and cooked breakfast. The hampers were more than adequate to provide for your first evening/morning. There are also shops nearby to stock up and if cooking is not for you. There were plenty of restaurants, pubs and cafes to provide for every taste within easy reach. The lake provided a tranquil location and we enjoyed the fishing, catching in excess of 40 + fish (Mainly carp to 14lb and large bream) in our few days. We definitely will return as despite its close proximity to the airport and London you would think you were a million miles away. Thanks for creating this special place.

We were seeking a quiet retreat to escape our house renovations and enjoy a Birthday celebration and The Hut on the lake didn’t disappoint! The Hut is beautifully appointed and has everything you need for preparing a BBQ and a cooked breakfast. The welcome hamper was gorgeous, lovely local goodies and the sausage was scrummy. We enjoyed walking across the fields and visited the local Indian restaurant which was lovely and had a drink after in the pub. Saturday we BBQ and the BBQ facilities were great and we enjoyed alfresco dinner. Sunday we went to Guildford for some Birthday shopping and then back for Sunday roast at the six bells. Service at the six bells was excellent, food was good, not excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our break at the hut and even had a little row in the boat on the lake. Simply perfect!
