Nestled away in the heart of the countryside, the Wildflower Wagon is on the doorstep of a beautiful wood and overlooks picturesque fields. Originally a railway carriage and almost a hundred years old, the cabin has been reinvented into a cosy space for two, but still maintains its rustic charm and vintage vibe. The outside decking is the perfect place to take in the wonderful view, or you can sit beside the fire pit in your own private garden, toasting marshmallows or sizzling your dinner on the barbecue. Stroll down the path into the woods and you’ll find the gorgeous wood fired bath tub, complete with fairy lights and curtains for privacy. If you are feeling adventurous, why not take a dip in the all-natural swimming pond, a tranquil experience you’ll never forget? The pond is available to guests at set times each afternoon.
The cabin has been delightfully restored, beautifully decorated and is a truly unique getaway that is full of character. Inside is a charming kitchenette that has everything you’ll need for refreshments and light snacks, including a fridge, kettle, toaster and a Nespresso machine. The cloakroom has a flushing toilet and washbasin, with fluffy towels and Crofts Hill Barn toiletries. When it’s time to wind down, enjoy the luxurious king size bed with feather duvet and super soft linen bedding. There’s also fast fibre broadband available to keep you connected. Guests can enjoy locally sourced, hand prepared food throughout the day, including a range of delicious breakfast options, as well as platters, picnic hampers and food for you to cook on your fire pit.
The Wildflower Wagon is situated in the quiet village of Dry Drayton and provides easy access to the surrounding countryside, with plenty of footpaths to explore right from your doorstep. It’s just five miles away from the city of Cambridge, which is full of iconic buildings, museums, galleries, shops and restaurants. Several national trust properties lie within a 30-minute drive, including Wimpole Hall, where you can appreciate the architecture and stunning landscapes by walking around the parkland. It’s also a short drive away from the towns of Ely, St Ives, Bury St Edmunds and Saffron Walden, which all have interesting markets and a host of independent shops and eateries. Feel free to ask the hosts for some of their favourite spots.
