Unique, private and stylish, this innovative triangular, glass-paned cabin sits amongst acres of stunning farm land. For ultimate relaxation, spend days lounging on large, circular wicker chairs which sit on the timber deck. Grab a book and read, chat or just sit in silence and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the surrounding countryside.
The Trap is completely private, in fact, it is secluded enough to be able to enjoy the outside bath tub which sits sunken into the deck. So pour some soapy bubbles into the tub, fizzy bubbles into a glass, lie back and relax. Listen to breeze move through the trees which rise beyond the cabin and act as a wall between you and the rest of the world.
At night time, slide between the soft cotton linen of the king size bed and get cosy amongst the array of plump scatter cushions and under the soft warm duvet. Neutral fabrics compliment the timber frame and in one corner sits a wood burning stove which will keep visitors snug all night long. Large curtains keep guests cocooned, but why not take advantage of all those glass panels and sleep, quite literally, under the stars?
Behind The Trap is the kitchen and toilet. Small and basic but stylish and clean, the kitchen is well-equipped for making simple suppers. Alternatively, fire up the large gas barbecue, pop some logs on the fire pit and settle in for a night of spotting constellations, watching flames flicker and drinking good wine.
If you can pull yourself away from this tranquil idyll, take a stroll to the local pub, The Green Man at Toot Hill, highly recommended for a fine traditional ale. Or, pull on the walking boots and head off, from the front door, on the trails which lead you to Epping and Ongar, where you will find a local shop. The owners are happy to provide details of local walks, trails and cycle rides to experience. There are also many National Trust properties nearby, including Gibberd Garden.

Leave a reviewThe Trap was an absolutely perfect place to stay for our mini moon. Surrounded by nature in a comfortable, modern way was just what we needed! Can't wait to try another hideaway although it's hard not to just go back to The Trap.
