The Listening Station is your secluded coastal escape just 10-minutes from the golden sands of the Suffolk coastline. Nestled on private land in the heart of the Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape, it’s ideal for couples or small families to escape the modern world's stresses. Luxury fittings, cosy decor and stunning sea views make it an unforgettable stay in East Anglia.
The property sits directly in an old WW2 submarine listening station on the North Sea coast, and you can’t help but notice the seclusion as you arrive. It’s just you and those you love surrounded by lush countryside, golden sands and calm seas. As you enter the newly renovated building, you’re captivated by the huge windows with sea views. The neutral, calming decor that’s combined with luxury fittings encourages you to slow down.
The open-plan kitchen, living and dining area is the heart of the home. Plush sofas offer a comfy relaxation spot during the quieter moments, while the fully-equipped kitchen has everything you need to feed a family. The dining table offers incredible views out to sea, but in the summer months, why not take your culinary creations to the outside deck and dine alfresco?
In the mornings, the smell of fresh coffee and a cooked breakfast fill the space, but on a warm evening, you can light the BBQ and pour yourself a glass of something cold while the sun sets. As the night draws in, the captivating starry skies add to the tranquillity.
Two luxurious king size bedrooms at either end of the house are the perfect place to rest tired heads, with nothing but the sounds of the sea and the breeze through the dunes for company as you drift off. Each bedroom has an ensuite for privacy and comfort, one with a deep bath for those relaxing soaks, and the other with a large shower for your morning refresh.
The Listening Station is nestled on the glorious North Sea coastline, just a 15-minute walk to the charming town of Southwold, perfect for an ice cream or fresh fish and chips. Further afield, explore the towns of Lowestoft or Great Yarmouth, or the bustling cities of Norwich and Ipswich. Nature lovers are treated to countless fantastic walking, cycling and riding routes directly from the house, or you can visit the Norfolk Broads National Park or The Fens for a truly unique experience on the water.
