Just outside the coastal village of Winterton-on-Sea on family-run Mill Farm, is the eco-friendly Grain Barn. This timber framed eco-build has been meticulously decorated by the farm's owners with style, comfort and sustainability considered in equal measure. And while there is nothing wrong with staying put during your stay, you will be brilliantly positioned to enjoy all that the East Norfolk coast has to offer.
The barn sleeps four guests across two ensuite bedrooms (an extra bed can be provided upon request), making this ideal for a family or a couple of couples. Oh, and a welcome hamper containing local treats will be ready for your arrival too!
Grain Barn is an upside-down house, with the bedrooms on the ground floor and the communal areas upstairs. The main living space is open planned and incredibly spacious. This huge room sits underneath vaulted, timber-framed ceilings and has views over nearby farmland and of the Norfolk coast. The lounge area has plenty of comfy seating, all orientated around the wall-mounted flat screen TV. It's the perfect spot for a film night or games evening.
For cooking up a storm, the kitchen has it all. It comes wonderfully well equipped, has lots of workspace and boasts an island unit and breakfast bar. The dining table sits adjacent and comfortably seats six guests. A set of bi-folding doors lead out onto the balcony where you can enjoy a relaxing beverage and survey the surrounding countryside.
Both bedrooms are beautifully decorated and well proportioned. The blue bedroom has a king size bed and cot while the green room can function either as a twin or super king size double. Both bedrooms have chic ensuite bathrooms, complete with WCs, basins, showers and baths.
Outside Grain Barn is the large, enclosed garden - the perfect place for the pooches to play. Fancy some al fresco dining? The decking has outdoor furniture and a BBQ,, so, get cooking!
The region is replete with things to see and do. Winterton-on-sea is a charming little fishing village and includes a fish and chip shop, restaurant and pub - all within walking distance of the barn. The Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is famed for its sandy beaches and rolling sand dunes which stretch for miles. Four miles away at Horsey is the seal colony, a real must-see. Also nearby is The Broads National Park - the UK's largest wetland area. Just three miles down the road, this unique landscape is a firm favourite with lovers of boating, kayaking walking, cycling and fishing.
