Sydnope Hill Farm sits perched on the hilltops of Two Dales and has a stylish elegant interior that manages to be both light and airy and very cosy and inviting. This wonderful home would be perfect for a big family get together, a special celebration or a large group holiday in the countryside.
Arrive and head to the kitchen where you can unpack the food and wine and fill up the floor-to-ceiling fridge freezer. Then pour yourself a drink and take in your surroundings. There are fabulous views overlooking the garden and a large central island where everyone can gather and grab a welcome drink. Fully equipped with an impressive range cooker, a Bosch oven and two dishwashers it will make cooking for a large group easy as can be.
A spacious open plan lounge with cosy plush seating and a log burner leads to the dining room and is the perfect spot for a pre-dinner cocktail. The dining room itself seats 18 at an elegant long table with soft high backed chairs, perfect for a long lazy supper by the fantastic feature fireplace. A door from here opens onto the patio area should you choose to have a BBQ and will provide a gentle breeze on warmer evenings if you're dining inside.
Another delightfully cosy sitting room offers a place to rest after a big walk exploring the peaks and when you stroll through you'll discover a third delightful place to rest, a snug with a gas log burner where you can sneak away with a good book or indulge in an afternoon nap.
One of the most impressive spaces is the 600 square foot games room, which is located in a separate building with high ceilings and wooden beams. Inside you'll find an eight-foot pool table, the iconic French Bonzini B90 football table an AC/DC pinball machine, set to free play - this space is perfect for the little kids until bedtime, and then it's also pretty perfect for the big kids! There's a widescreen wall-mounted smart TV, soft seating area and bean bags where you can choose to either watch the TV or play on the Sony PS4. There’s also a Yamaha Clavinova Piano to keep you entertained.
When it's time for bed you'll have eight stylish bedrooms to choose from in two separate dwellings. The farmhouse itself sleeps 12 in five double bedrooms which includes one family room with bunk beds. The Annexe sleeps an additional six with one ground floor double, which is perfect for anyone with mobility issues, and a further two bedrooms upstairs - a double and a twin. All the rooms are luxuriously decorated in pale soothing colours with big comfy beds bedecked with crisp linens and warm duvets.
Four of the rooms have ensuite's and there are a further two family bathrooms which can be shared. All are light and airy with pretty tiled floors, hot showers, deep tubs and heated towel rails to keep your towels fluffy.
After a good night's sleep and an invigorating shower, head downstairs for a coffee and explore the gardens which surround the whole property. With some of the old quirky stone features remaining from its farm days it's a children's hide and seek heaven, and the patio is perfect for the adults to lounge around, enjoy a drink and fire up the BBQ.
When it's time to explore, you'll find Chatsworth House only fifteen minutes away and well worth a visit. Enjoy the vast gardens and the stunning house, and kids will love the children's farmyard and adventure playground – making it a great day out for all the family. The spa town of Matlock is 10 to 15 minutes away where you can stock up on groceries, do some shopping and enjoy a pint at the local pub. The park is great for children with a splash pool and skate park and there's a small boating lake if the mood takes you. The Market Town of Bakewell has a brilliant Farmers Markets every last Saturday of the month, where you can pick up some great local produce to take back home with you.
