Located in charming and picturesque Dovedale, considered the gateway to the Peak District National Park, Dovedale Manor and The Coach House are two pretty, traditional cottages, now refurbished throughout and available to rent together making them perfect for your next group getaway. Ideally located for groups looking to explore some of the most dramatic, unspoiled, and storied landscapes in all of England, the homes have been renovated to create comfortable and pleasing spaces for friends, families, and anybody else looking to spend time in the Peak District.
First up is Dovedale Manor. This beautiful home started life as a pub, but has since been renovated into a remarkable self-catering country house, with 13 ensuite bedrooms, easily capable of accommodating as many as 38 guests. This former drinking hole has retained many of its original features, and the entire downstairs now functions as a communal space for cooking and relaxing after a long day spent hiking and taking in the landscape. As well as being full of cooking and dining amenities for large groups, the room also has a flexible layout so that different groups and dynamics can be comfortably accommodated. Another winning element of Dovedale Manor is the staggering five acre garden, where guests are free to roam, picnic, and generally experience the beauty and charm of the region.
A stone's throw from Dovedale Manor, the former landlord's cottage, The Coach House, has been renovated into a contemporary high-end self-catering cottage, with sleeping room for up to nine people between three bedrooms. A combination of architectural charm and more modern amenities make this space the dream post-walking lodge, with a Smart TV in the main space, outdoor furniture for the warm, long, summer evenings, and three contemporary sofas facing out over a vista of Dovedale itself. As well as a private fenced in patio, The Coach House also has access to the sprawling five acre plot, making it an ideal space for younger families.
The properties are perfectly situated for easy access to the dramatic valleys and wooded hillsides which characterise the Peak District. The nearest village is Tissington, which can easily be accessed via a 15 minute stroll. Here, guests can pick up meat for grilling on the BBQ from a fantastic independent butcher shop, take tea in the tea rooms in Tissington Hall and stock up on general supplies. For a larger settlement, drive ten minutes to Ashbourne, and for hearty activities like fishing, swimming, kayaking and windsurfing, make the 20 minute journey to the reservoir at Carsington Water. From your front door you can easily reach Dovedale National Park, considered one of the seven natural wonders of the UK.
Please note that the minimum stay for this property is 2 nights
