Sitting on the penumbra of the Peak District National Park you will find Darley House. This beautifully refurbished six-bedroom Georgian home sits on an acre of land, surrounded by impeccably kept Victorian gardens - perfect for al-fresco dining. The historic charm of the home is instantly striking, and it is replete with ornate fixtures, and elegant antique furniture. Darley House's luxury is matched by its surprisingly homely feel, with its wood burning stoves, open fireplaces, and beautifully furnished bedrooms. Sleeping between a maximum of 10-14 guests, this Derbyshire gem is ideal for special gatherings of families and friends alike.
The ground floor houses the communal areas and you will be welcomed into the home via the elegant entrance hall. The spacious kitchen sits beneath vaulted ceilings and looks out onto the gardens. It comes fully equipped with a large 14-seater dining table and has a mezzanine area complete with a wood burning stove and flat screen TV. The drawing room offers the perfect place to relax while the panelled TV room is ideal for watching a film or having a gaming tournament on the PlayStation or Xbox. There is also a versatile events room which can play host to dinner parties or even a friendly table tennis game or two.
The upstairs houses all of the six bedrooms. Dovedale, Tissington, and Darley are spacious double bedrooms, with each boasting their own en suite bathrooms. Cressbrook and Monsal are both twin bedrooms (Monsal's beds can zip together to create a super king). Lastly, there is Castleton, the bunk room which contains four beds. Besides the en suites, the ground floor contains a Moroccan-style wet room and there is a shower room on the first floor. Step outside of the house and onto the beautifully designed Victorian gardens. Here, you can lounge on the deck chairs or dine al fresco at the outdoor furniture.
The nearby Peak District became England's first National Park in 1951. It is known for its beautiful, undulating scenery and its many picturesque towns and villages. A favourite of nature lovers, it is a popular spot of hiking, cycling, rock climbing, and caving. Various activities can also be arranged via the property’s owners such as photography courses, hot air ballooning, bike hire, and a chocolate tasting workshop.

Leave a reviewWe booked Darley House so that 9 family members could gather and relax over the Christmas period. It did not disappoint and was beautifully decorated including a large Christmas tree and garlands over the fireplaces and stair banisters. There was plenty space for everyone both to spread out and gather with a wonderfully equipped kitchen and plenty wood for the fires. The house was warm and very comfortable to be in and a welcome return after pub walks or outings, There were many good pubs and restaurants nearby. Finally thanks to Lucy who was wonderful to deal with and made the whole booking very easy.

We loved our time at Darley House. We were there over New Year with our family and had an amazing time. The photos do no do the house justice and the property was much bigger than we expected. Beautiful grounds, well equipped kitchen and cosy décor. Lucy is extremely helpful and friendly and was on hand for any questions or problems we had. We hope to visit again soon.

We had an amazing time here. The house is stunning, really lovely part of the world and very convenient. The grounds are great if you have kids, and they'll love the bunk beds! Really looking forward to our next visit!

Wow, wow, wow, what a beautiful, amazing house. The pictures do not do it justice. We booked the house for a surpise 60th for my wife, the look on her face when we walked around the house was a picture. Having said then, the look on every ones face was a picture. All the family loved it and needless to say, my wife had a fabulous 60th. The grandchildren had hours of fun playing hide and seek in all the rooms and enjoying the games room. We hired the hot tub, which was well worth it, again the grandchildren loved it, even in the rain. The adults also enjoyed it, once we were allowed to use it by the grandchildren. All the family have contacted me to say we must go back again, some want Christmas and some want summer, decisions, decisions.
