Modern and rustic features combine at this barn conversion in Bradbourne, Derbyshire, creating an atmosphere that is at once luxurious and homely. Valley View benefits from a stunning location amidst some of the English Midlands' most beautiful scenery. The large patio area allows for full enjoyment of the undulating vistas, while an adjacent field serves as the perfect picnic setting. The result of the owners' meticulous and carefully considered labour of love, it has been converted into a truly stunning retreat. Sleeping up to 14 guests across seven rooms, this countryside escape is ideal for groups of friends and family, young and old alike.
The barn is comprised of two floors. On the ground floor, a large open-planned kitchen/ dining and lounge area serves as the central communal area. The kitchen is fully equipped with ample workspace and there is a large farmhouse dining table with seating for up to 14 guests. Adjacent is the lounge area, complete with a large modular sofa, coffee table, and wall-mounted flat screen TV. There is also a selection of board games to enjoy.
Also on the ground floor is the family bathroom and three bedrooms, each functioning as either doubles or twins. Exposed timber beams are found throughout the property, with the upstairs bedrooms sitting within the eaves of the barn; vaulted ceilings and heavily exposed beamed ceilings and walls, are beautiful aspects to admire. There are four bedrooms upstairs in total; two doubles and two can either be king size rooms or twin rooms. Each has its own shower ensuite.
Step outside the barn and onto the large outdoor patio area which contains a built-in BBQ, two picnic benches, and lots of space for entertaining. Hot tub and gazebo hire can be organised with a recommended company – the cottage provides a hot tub outlet on the corner of the patio. A lawn runs around the property and a neighbouring field is also rented by the owners, allowing for additional space to roam, or just relax and enjoy the surrounding views. Immediately leading from the cottage is a cycle track that can either lead to Bradbourne village, Brassington, Carsington and beyond, or in the other direction, Tissington village; where you may find a beautiful café, vintage sweet shop, candle and ceramics shop, butchers, and the breath-taking Tissington Hall.
Several activities can be arranged at Valley View, including the hire of a private chef, mixologist, personal trainer, outdoor yoga instructor, pop-up escape room, beautician, professional photographer, baker, florist, balloon supplier to name a few. Additional activities can be organised on site or in the local area including peak district treasure hunts, archery, hover-crafting, paintballing, clay pigeon shooting, murder mystery evenings, arts & crafts, guided tours, quad biking, bushcraft and cocktail master classes!
Should you wish to venture out, then the local area is replete with scenic walking and cycling trails. Guests who enjoy hiking, bike riding and outdoors pursuits from sailing and paintballing to Go Ape and caving will be delighted by what is on offer in the surrounding Peak District. Almost every taste can be catered to with advance liaison. For a more sedate afternoon stroll, consider the picturesque strolls to either The Knockerdown Pub in nearby Carsington or The Olde Gate Inne in Brassington, both offering brilliant food, excellent cheer and fantastic local ales.
Valley View also sits just on the edge of the Peak District, providing easy access to the first National Park in England. Other nearby attractions include Chatsworth House and Gardens, Haddon Hall, and Renishaw Hall & Gardens, while the Alton Towers and Gulliver's Kingdom theme parks are within driving distance.
