The perfect rural getaway for family and friends, this wonderfully quirky cottage is hidden away in a secluded North Norfolk woodland.
Keepers Cottage is found within a magical private woodland, filled with wildflowers and cherry trees. This secluded location, in the heart of the North Norfolk countryside, is ideal for family or friends looking to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy a well-earned rural getaway. It also offers excellent access to East Anglia’s stunning coastline, breathtaking national parks, charming market towns and quaint villages.
Upon entering Keepers Cottage, you’ll be treated to a kaleidoscopic array of colourful design and playful décor. Care and attention have been put into every detail, from the hand-painted wall murals to the many upcycled antiques and curiosities. But that doesn’t take away from its rustic cottage charm. Created as a haven for celebrations, there is plenty of room for entertaining. You’ll even find a giant disco ball and a cocktail set in the spacious lounge for drinks and a boogie.
After something more relaxed? The cosy snug with its smart TV is the perfect place to unwind to a good movie or binge the latest series, all the while being kept warm and cosy by the traditional fireplace. When it’s time to eat, guests can make use of the compact but well-equipped kitchen to prepare a feast. Meals can then be shared in the separate dining room, again warmed by a log-burning stove.
The cottage boasts four delightful bedrooms. One of these, a double with an ensuite shower room and access to the garden, is found on the ground floor. The other three rooms are upstairs. They include another double room, a twin (which can be set up as a double on request) and a single room. These rooms share two family-sized bathrooms with baths and separate showers. Guests also have access to the two acres of tranquil woodland that surrounds the property, where you can enjoy the spectacular views across the Wolterton Estate, a 150-acre park in the idyllic Bure Valley.
There is so much to see and do in the surrounding area. Fancy a trip to the seaside? The town of Cromer is nearby, where you can walk along the coast and stop for fish and chips at the famous No.1 Cromer. Why not head to the breathtaking beaches at Overstrand, Mundesley and Holkham, or spot seals at the Blakeney National Nature Reserve? You’ll also be spoilt for choice with food and drink options, with an excellent selection of artisan producers, cafes and gastropubs right on your doorstep.
