Looking out over the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with dreamy views over green fields, trees and meadows, this modern studio makes an ideal getaway for those looking to immerse themselves in the natural world without compromising on life's luxuries. Sympathetically clad in timber, it sits harmoniously with the surroundings. The property is sleek and modern with patio doors and letterbox windows which let in rays of natural light while guests make the most of the marvellous views.
The interior is bright with a vaulted ceiling which adds generous height and gives a spacious feel to this good-sized studio apartment. The colour scheme is neutral which serves to emphasise the blue furnishings, paintwork and antique pieces of dark wood furniture.
In the morning, throw open the stable door and enjoy the fresh air and sounds of nature from the comfort of the super king-sized bed. This exceptionally comfortable bed has immaculate white linens and a dark blue linen headboard to lean against whilst enjoying morning coffee. A beautiful antique chest of drawers provides an abundance of storage for all belongings.
Breakfast is a breeze thanks to the small, but well-equipped, kitchen area. Whether heating pastries or preparing a full English from produce fresh from the farm, everything is provided. So, sit down and enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the dining table that is situated next to the patio doors, so guests can make the most of the tranquil location all day long.
In the living area sits a luxurious velvet sofa with Chaise Longue extension that is perfect for kicking back on and enjoying a good book or catching up on movies. There is also a Smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Outside, and there is a private garden area with a fire pit for toasting marshmallows on while spotting shooting stars. The property also offers fabulous sunset views from the west-facing garden, so you can enjoy a sundowner in style with your loved one.
Horseshoe Barn is situated on Bottle Farm which is the home to the Kit and Kee Catering Company and Bottle Farm Charcuterie, so there is no end of local treats to savour. The owners also sell lamb and pork from the farm, as well as beer from the Gyle59 brewery on the opposite side of the valley and sparkling wine from Castlewood. For more supplies, nearby Bridport has a busy Saturday morning market. After stocking up on goodies, head down to the Jurassic Coast for some fossil spotting, walk the coastal pathways or spend a day on the beach at popular Lyme Regis. There are plenty of great local pubs and restaurants in the area, try Swim in Lyme Regis for burgers on the seaside terrace or book Mark Hix's Oyster and Fish House.

Leave a reviewHorseshoe Barn is a perfect oasis in a beautiful part of the world and as soon as we arrived we felt relaxed. Hugo and Alice have created a beautiful place to stay and enjoy the local nature as well as produce. The barn has everything you will need if you are cooking or eating out with lots of ideas for local walks or adventures slightly further afield. Sitting listening to the birds and watching nature gets very addictive particularly in such comfort. The fantastic home produced sausages from the BBQ and the local fizz and beer added to the setting and we had a lovely 4 nights. Some of our highlights were the Saturday Beer Garden at the local brewery Gale 59 (food, music and a lovely walk there and back - what could be better?), walking to Lambert’s Castle for an afternoon picnic, walking to Golden Cap from Charlmouth (stop at Charlmouth Bakery for sandwiches, sausage rolls, park at the NT car park, drink / snack in Seatown, then an amazing Baboo ice cream at Crazy Cow when you get back to the car). Lunch at Glebe House was also something not to be missed.
