Take in the country air, relax by the pool and unwind in this characterful former Dovecote surrounded by the lush fields and woodland of pretty Wiltshire. This two-storey property has been transformed into a beautiful one-bedroom bolthole which, while offering all the modern conveniences essential for a relaxing break, retains much of its original features, offering guests a truly unique experience.
The stonework has been left exposed with the nesting holes on show along with the original timber beams which criss-cross the vaulted ceiling. A floor has been added to create a downstairs dining and kitchen area with everything guests could possible need for creating romantic suppers for two. Guests can stock up on local produce in nearby Salisbury where guests will find plenty of culinary inspiration before cooking up a storm in the kitchen, which also has a large fridge freezer, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine.
The kitchen and dining area is spacious with a glass topped circular dining table and luxurious velvet dining chairs. Pretty prints hang on the walls and there are plenty of lamps to create mood lighting - lovely for relaxation. There is also a bathroom on this level with a large walk-in shower, perfect for a hot steamy blast to start the day.
A wooden staircase takes visitors to the top floor where they discover the bedroom and lounge area.
Crisp white linens, cosy throws and an abundance of pillows and cushions make the super king-sized bed extremely inviting. The upholstered headboard and bedside lighting ensure visitors enjoy a restful night's sleep, nodding off to the hoot of an owl in a faraway tree. The bedroom area has a French-style wardrobe and chest of drawers offering plenty of space to keep belongings tucked safely out of sight.
A large velvet corner sofa sits at the end of the bed, offering guests a place to chill out. Cuddle up with a drink and a good book or catch up on boxsets and must-sees on the 50 inch television. There's also a large, freestanding bath tub, offering you the chance to enjoy a wonderful, relaxing soak at the end of the day.
On sunny days, head outside and take advantage of the lovely outdoor areas. Sip coffee and nibble pastries on the stone patio which has lovely views over the meadows. Alternatively, make the most of the luxurious outdoor sofas and heated swimming pool. It will be a struggle to move but there are many interesting places to discover nearby including the mysterious Stone Henge, Salisbury Cathedral and Messums Gallery. When it's time for something to eat there are lots of cosy traditional pubs to try including The Wyndham Arms and The Black Dog at Chilmark.

Leave a reviewThe Dovecote is a truly wonderful place. We had a great two day break there, property has been restored to the highest of standards and finished beautifully inside. Can only highly recommend.

Our two day break at the Dovecote was wonderful. The accommodation was beautifully decorated and we both particularly loved the bath tub and the most comfortable of beds. We only wished we had longer. Definitely want to come back in the future. Thank you so much

Very much enjoyed our birthday stay at Dinton Dovecote. Karen was very welcoming and her place looks exactly as it does in the photos. Loved all the little welcome touches croissants, biscuits, chocolates etc. Sadly as the weather did not play ball, we did not get the opportunity to use the lovely pool but would love to return in the hope weather conditions would be more favourable to make use of all the facilities the dovecote has to offer. Karen’s recommendations for places to eat and visit were comprehensive, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Royal Oak. Karen was grateful when we informed her there was an issue with the TV and we were able to recommend where a replacement could be purchased for future guests and as a result she very kindly waived the electric charge amount for our electric car. Would definitely recommend Karen’s place to anyone wishing to visit the beautiful Wiltshire countryside.

We had a lovely four night stay to celebrate a birthday at Dinton Dovecote which looked exactly as it does in the pictures. Karen was a very accommodating host and was lovely chatting to her about the best places to visit. Her dogs and the horses were a delight to watch. Would only have liked the weather to have been better to take advantage of the swimming pool. We would certainly choose to stay again as it had everything you need for a luxury country getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Dovecote. Karen was a great host and her three dogs were a delight. Having access to the swimming pool was a real bonus. Grovely Wood is very close and well worth visiting for the stunning avenue of beech trees. Highly recommended and deserving of 5 stars.
