This idyllic escape is designed to let you switch off, relax and completely unwind in nature. It would be perfect for a couple, a solo adventurer with dog or friends seeking peace and quiet in gorgeous surroundings.
If you're looking to detox from all the electronics and noise then this is the place for you. The cabin is rustic, pared back and very pretty with a curved ceiling, stiff key blue panelling, wild flowers picked for you from the meadow and a cool relaxing vibe. There's a comfy sofa for two and a coffee table and a backgammon board for long lazy games with lashings of tea.
At the far end you'll find a king size bed made up with high quality linens and soft pillows where you can sleep deeply and in great comfort. The décor is country meets boho with lovely printed curtains, wood furnishings and wild flowers dotted about. And just outside the entrance is a long bench with big cushions where you can sit with a book and bask in the sun.
There's a separate kitchen next to the cabin replete with a double gas hob, a sink with water from a 200 litre tank and a cold box with ice packs that you can replace every day to keep you wine and beer nice and chilled. The hosts have also provided a fire pit just outside with a grill where you can also do some cooking, or just toast some marshmallows and enjoy star gazing late into the night.
A separate washroom is tucked away on the other side of the hedge and is entirely solar-powered. The propane water boiler will ensure a good hot shower in the morning and the composting toilet is vented by a solar-powered fan. It's all very civilised and very off grid!
You'll arrive to a welcome hamper with all the basics including fresh ground coffee, tea, eggs and a fresh loaf. And if you want to buy some other bits the farm upon which your idyll rests has a small shop selling local wine, beer, cider and other treats.
The hosts have provided some maps so you can plan your local excursions, which might just entail wandering through the fields or making yourself comfy on the swing seat under the ash tree with a drink. You'll only be five miles from the Jurassic Coast where you can enjoy the stunning beaches and a whole host of fantastic eateries.
Nearby Lyme Regis is a lovely seaside town where you can hunt for fossils on the beach, stroll along the famous Cobb, or head for a locally-caught seafood lunch at one of the excellent restaurants, including the Oyster and Fish House by Mark Hix.
