The gorgeous appearance of this wood cabin has all the markings of Scandinavian design with a light open plan interior that flows beautifully. Windows are large or slide back to create an indoor/outdoor ambience and there's a cosy sofa for two to cuddle up on and enjoy the view as you get your feet toasty in front of the wood-burner in the evening.
A large king-sized bed is nestled at one end with a large picture window at your feet so you can wake to the sunshine and the green fields outside.
The kitchen is well equipped for any feasts you might want to whip up but the owners recommend you take advantage of the fabulous outdoor cooking area (just over the bridge across the stream) after which you can languish under the trees with a glass of something chilled and delicious.
Part of the land around the cabin has been given over to the creation of wildlife habitats so you can spot deer, kingfishers, otters, barn owls and the many other creatures that call the area home.
The bathroom is very cool with a walk-in shower and copper taps and all the toiletries are complimentary. For an extra glorious treat the cabin comes with a beautiful outdoor copper bath where you can sink in with some champagne and bubble bath and stargaze the night away.
No one would blame you for spending your entire visit in and around this lovely cabin but if you do fancy exploring further afield you're only an hour or so from Dartmoor, Exmoor or the coast, where you can enjoy the stone circles and high tors, clifftop walks, some surfing if that's your thing, and ice cream on the seafront.
After the sun sets grab a torch and make the mile walk to the Ring of Bells where you'll find some excellent local food and fine ales or a cold pint. Binka, the wonderful landlady will look after you. She also provides a Ringer’s Ramble Pack complete with a map showing the best local walking routes, local beer, a handmade sausage roll, frazzles, an apple, and a hunk of regional cheese. What more could you need for a picnic in the lush surroundings of Devon?
The Cadleigh Arms is a little further away (3.5 miles) but is also worth a visit as it's award winning and nestled in a charming village. They have an excellent restaurant plus a pool table and a skittles room for you to while away a lazy afternoon. Thornes Farm Shop and cafe is just over two miles away so head over and enjoy a coffee and stock up on some great local produce before you head back for a romantic meal beneath the stars. You'll find books, cards and games for you to enjoy if you fancy some time away from your phones.
