Stylish converted farmhouse with log burner, garden, BBQ, hot tub, outdoor bar, pizza oven and lovely views of the Yorkshire Dales near Richmond.
Henry is nestled in 1.5 acres of land at Holly House Farm, has its own walled patio entrance and a large south-facing garden. It is the perfect getaway for an extended family or a group of friends, with large communal spaces and comfortable rooms with beds that can be used as super-kings or large twins.
As you arrive the exterior of Henry has all the charm of a proper Yorkshire farmhouse, and once inside you'll find a luxurious space where you can relax in style.
The open plan kitchen and dining area is a good place to gather for a welcome drink. It has double-height ceilings, a very large kitchen island and dining table with cool and comfy bamboo chairs. There are soothing accents of green, some excellent quirky wallpaper and double doors which lead out to a big garden. The kitchen is fully equipped for the chefs amongst you and the dining area has a large mirror, pretty lamps and that all important wine fridge. Whether it's a busy breakfast or a celebratory meal, the hosts have thought of everything. And if you don't fancy catering your own party, a chef can be provided!
From here you can stroll through to the cosy living room. Large plush sofas, more stylish wallpaper and a log burning stove with plenty of kindling, make this the perfect place to get together on a chilly night for a movie marathon with popcorn.
The ground floor also has one bedroom with an ensuite shower room ideal for anyone with mobility issues. The remaining three bedrooms are on the first floor. All have super-king size beds with crisp linens and warm duvets. Two of the rooms share a family bathroom and the master has its own ensuite. All of the rooms have lovely views of the Yorkshire hills and the overall vibe is of high-end hotel bedrooms, decorated in calming muted tones with fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries.
The private terrace and garden have as much to offer as the interior and are both set up for long summer evenings. The front garden is perfect for alfresco dining with a large table and a covered bar with its own built-in pizza oven and a BBQ. Stock up with cold beers and wine, get the pizza toppings lined up and enjoy supper as the sun sets over the stunning Yorkshire Dales! The rear garden has the added bonus of a large hot tub with festoon lighting where you can bob about with a drink and do some stargazing.
After a good night's sleep, a long hot shower and a big cup of coffee, you might like to head out and explore the area. For those who want to clear the cobwebs and enjoy nature, you can't do better than the Yorkshire Dales National Park where you'll find many fabulous walks and cycling routes that start from your front door. And once you've taken in all those idyllic views and the fresh air, you can treat yourself to a pint at the Holly Hill Inn, only a mile from Henry. This is a proper country pub with a big fireplace, stone walls, a cosy interior and great pub grub. For a good coffee you'll be a five-minute drive from Middlemoor Farm Cafe which is very popular and also serves an excellent breakfast or afternoon tea.
The historic market town of Richmond is only five miles away for shopping and amenities, and the hosts recommend the weekly markets in Leyburn and Richmond for local goodies to stock up the fridge. You'll also find some great restaurants and bars here if you fancy a night out.
