Stunning Grade II listed cottage in a tranquil Yorkshire village close to the North Yorkshire Moors.
This stunning North Yorkshire cottage is a truly idyllic retreat for groups of up to eight guests. Dating back to 1850, this Grade II listed home was designed by renowned Architect William Butterfield. The cottage sits on the edge of the village of Baldersby, and offers great access to the North Yorkshire Moors.
The Hill has been lovingly restored and remains homely and full of traditional character, whilst offering modern, luxury comforts. When you arrive you’ll want to gather in the cosy living room and unwind with a drink in hand. Here, you’ll find big comfy sofas and armchairs and beautiful windows that offer views of the extensive gardens. Light the log burner and stay cosy and warm whatever the weather outside, as you enjoy your favourite movies on the Smart TV.
Budding chefs will adore the kitchen at The Hill, which is kitted out with everything you’ll need to prepare delicious meals during your stay. There’s also an island unit, which provides you with a nice social spot to perch with a drink as dinner’s being whipped up. Then, when dinner’s ready, head to the big dining table that comfortably seats 10 guests and sits next to an additional wood burner for cosy evening meals.
The kitchen also leads out into the charming courtyard, and you can then make your way through an arched wall into the extensive gardens and additional patio area. These grand outdoor spaces are ideal for summer socialising, offering a lovely spot to sit with a drink in hand after a busy day out exploring North Yorkshire.
Up on the first floor, you’ll find four spacious bedrooms, each designed with relaxation in mind. Three feature king size beds, while one offers a cosy twin setup. Each room carries the serene colour scheme found downstairs, with stunning views over the gardens and beyond. Expect nothing less than the softest linens, plush duvets and cushions that promise you the best night’s sleep.
The two beautifully renovated bathrooms are a real treat. One boasts a generous walk-in shower, WC and basin, while the other steals the show with a striking clawfoot bathtub, perfect for unwinding in peace. A separate shower cubicle adds extra convenience, making it an ideal space for ultimate relaxation.
Located in the heart of Baldersby, this charming cottage is just six miles from Thirsk and five miles from Ripon, offering a perfect base to explore North Yorkshire. Surrounded by stunning countryside, the village is ideal for those looking to discover the North Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Park. With picturesque walking and cycling trails, historic landmarks and tranquil villages, Baldersby is the perfect destination for both outdoor adventures and peaceful retreats in one of the UK's most scenic regions.
