This lovely cottage has bags of character, a light stylishly decorated interior and a gorgeous walled garden, and would be perfect for two couples or a small family seeking rest and respite in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.
Upon entry you'll notice beautiful wrought iron cross beams showcasing this lovely cottage's heritage. The open-plan kitchen, dining and living room run the full length of the cottage and has been beautifully decorated. The kitchen is modern and sleek and comes fully equipped with state of the art appliances from Bosch, making it a great space to prepare wonderful feasts which you can enjoy at the farmhouse style white dining table. A perfect place for long lazy suppers or bustling breakfasts on colder days, but on warmer days you'll want to throw open the doors from the kitchen and dine alfresco in the pretty walled garden.
The living area has a big comfy corner sofa facing a wall-mounted widescreen TV. A wood burner is tucked into the corner making everything extra warm and cosy in the evenings, and the walls are adorned with attractive art. As well as a skylight, there are patio doors giving you a lovely view of the countryside. Gather together for a movie night with popcorn and plenty of wine.
The whole cottage is on one floor with two good sized bedrooms, both with super-king size beds which can be adapted into twins as needed. The décor is high-end and luxurious with crisp linens and colourful soft furnishings.
One shared bathroom has a large bath and overhead shower, and with underfloor heating throughout, your toes will be nice and warm at all times. There is also a separate toilet and cloak room where you can leave your muddy boots and coats after a long walk.
After a good night's rest, make a coffee and head out into the charming walled garden where you can sit at the round table and enjoy the fresh air as you make your plans for the day. You might be tempted to jump into the hot tub, but it might be a treat best left for after the exploring when you can unwind in the bubbles with a cold drink.
You can explore the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park right from your doorstep. Go on foot or bring a bike and make the most of the stunning scenery. Less than a mile from Austin is The Holly Inn, a welcoming local pub serving good food and fine ales. A great treat at the end of a big stomp!
The nearest towns are Richmond and Leyburn, both of which are historic and have excellent weekly markets where you can stock up on local produce. The host highly recommend the five-minute drive to the popular Middlemoor Farm Cafe which serves an excellent breakfast, delicious lunch and indulgent afternoon teas. Richmond also has a number of great bars and restaurants to explore. Or if you fancy a night in the garden you can fire up the BBQ, enjoy some drinks as the sun sets and sink into the hot tub for some stargazing.
