The Old Potting Shed is a lovely detached stone cottage in the heart of the bustling Georgian market town of Richmond. It's a perfect holiday home for a small family, two couples or friends seeking a restful break in the country close to town.

Once you've taken off your coats in the entrance hall, make your way into the warm and welcoming heart of the home, the living and dining area. The room is beautifully decorated with a feature wall of unique wallpaper surrounding a toasty wood-burner. A large grey sofa gives you space to sprawl out and the room has tones of rich blue in the coffee table and stool with a pop of mustard in the comfy chair.

It's a real home from home with scatter cushions, local art and a smart TV for chilled out nights with a movie. On warmer evenings you can open the French doors to the patio and let in the fresh Yorkshire air. The rear of the room has a large dining table with bench and chair seating where you can enjoy a long lazy supper with fine wines or local ales.

Adjacent to the living and dining area is a modern, smart kitchen, fully equipped with all the essentials. And if you're feeling too relaxed to cook you can order a take away from one of the delicious restaurants in town.

After a relaxing evening you can climb the stairs, admire the stylishly decorated bedrooms before collapsing on to the king size beds and enjoying a deep peaceful night's sleep. Both rooms are equally delightful and the master room also benefits from its own TV and a wall of wardrobes should you need a couple of costume changes per day. There's a modern tiled bathroom with a bath and separate shower with heated rails to keep your towels warm and fluffy whilst you take a long soak.

In the morning you might like to take your coffee out into the garden and laze on the rattan furniture as you make your plans for the day. The garden is also home to a luxurious hot tub, offering you and your loved ones the perfect way to unwind after a day out and about.

You'll be a short 10-minute walk from the centre of town, a wonderful place to mooch around and explore with its treasure trove of independent shops and a thriving market every Saturday. There are also several good pubs and plenty of restaurants to keep you entertained.

Richmond Falls is highly recommended for a walk to see the ancient Richmond Castle, and if you follow the trail to Richmond Bridge you can pop into the award-winning bakery in 'The Station', a fabulous converted Victorian railway building which is home to two cinema screens, a cafe and a brewery!

Bring your walking boots as there's plenty to see both near and a bit further afield. Try the coast to coast path and clear the cobwebs or head to the Yorkshire Dales and admire 'God's Own Country'. And when you're exhausted from all that adventuring you can head back to the potting shed and sink into the hot tub with a big glass of fizz as the stars twinkle up above.
