Gwel an Heyl is a gorgeous holiday home situated in one of the most sought after farm conversion developments in North Cornwall. The entire property is on one level allowing easy access for anyone with mobility issues. With four large double bedrooms and a den which can sleep an additional person, this wonderful holiday let would be ideal for a big family get together or a group of friends wanting to unwind in luxury and take in the sea air.
The property was completely renovated and extended in 2022 and on arrival you'll find a spacious, elegant home with wood and stone floors, high ceilings and tasteful modern furnishings. There are two living rooms, both beautifully decorated with comfortable sofas and artfully placed lamps. The larger has a wood burner you can cosy up to in the evening and bi-folding doors which open onto a huge landscaped garden boasting glorious views of the sea.
The chefs among you will be delighted by the big modern kitchen which comes fully equipped with everything you could need to whip up a celebratory feast. Next to the kitchen is a large farmhouse style dining area which can comfortably seat up to nine. There's also a large outdoor dining table which is perfect for enjoying some locally sourced seafood on balmy summer evenings.
In addition to the two living rooms there's a very cool den, decorated in dark warm colours with a long sofa, armchair and beanbag where you can send the teens to watch movies or sneak off by yourself for a bit of down time. Guests may also use the den as an extra sleep space (the sofa opens into a bed).
When it's time to sleep you have four fabulous bedrooms to choose from, two of which have ensuites with walk-in showers. All of the rooms have their own individual styles with fake furs, eclectic flourishes and doors opening to the outside. All of the rooms also feature very comfy beds guaranteeing a great night's sleep. The shared bathroom has a big tub for relaxing soaks as well as a shower and heated towel rails. With this main bathroom and the two ensuites there'll be no queuing in the morning.
As well as the alfresco dining area, the garden has a large hot tub nestled under a pergola where you can bob about with a glass of fizz and enjoy the fabulous views of the Atlantic.
Gwel An Heyl is a great base from which to explore all that Cornwall has to offer. The property is minutes form the Camel Trail by which you're only a 35 minute walk, or 10 minute cycle, from Padstow, so if you're a foodie you'll be in heaven! Padstow is also North Cornwall's base for adventure tours, sailing activities and beach strolls – there's something for everyone.
The nearest beach is Brea which is less than a mile away, and within a couple of miles you'll find Daymer Bay, Greenaway and Trevone Beach. If you fancy a tipple you might like to try the Pickwick Inn or the Ring O'Bells, both within a mile of Gwel An Heyl.
